I recently replaced my 1/3 hp disposal with a Kenmore 3/4 hp model with deluxe soundproofing. Performance is good. Noise is acceptable; the steel grinding chamber reflects a little more noise than a plastic one would, but is more durable. The instructions mention a dishwasher drain connection; this is misleading. Most dishwashers are not connected to the disposal, but instead connect to an air gap mounted on your sink, with a separate hose running from the air gap to the disposal. If you have this setup, you MUST remove the dime-sized plastic knockout plug inside the upper hose connector...
read full review »Not realizing Sears sold disposals (or disposer as Sears labels it) I went to the big box home improvement stores to check out their selection of disposals but wasn't happy with the choices/prices. I decided to go online and do some research ultimately choosing this disposal/ser. I was replacing a Badger 5 (8 years old) and was pleased to discover that I didn't have to replace any of the hanging hardware which made installing the disposal/ser a breeze. Since the old unit and new unit were almost identical in build, I didn't need to modify any of the plumbing and the whole thing installed in less...

So quiet and powerful.
As with most Kenmore products, this disposal is much better than competitor brands. The Kenmore waste disposal was easy to install, reliable, quiet, and extremely powerful. The power can be compared to resteraunt quality disposals in every category. Of course when purchasing the product, the Sears sales team was readily available as always and guided us in the right direction. Our bottom line experience: Great Sales support and another great Kenmore product!
Absolutely no complaints. Works great and reasonably priced.
I strongly recomment this 3/4 hp Kenmore
Garbage disposal, It will grind chicken bones, vegetable peels, egg shells, without any problem. We had an older Kenmore unit and after 5 yrs it leaked, it had a galvanized steel grinder chamber. This new one the 60581 has a stainless steel grinder chamber that should last a very long time without leaking. It also has an in house full 7 year warranty. which was a big selling point with me. I feel very confident that we will be very satisfied with this unit.
I bought this disposal to replace a 25 year old 1/2 HP Kenmore disposal. Since my old disposal had lasted so long, I didn't even consider buying another brand. I ordered it online and it was ready for pickup at the nearest Sears store within 15 minutes. I installed it by myself the next day and, although I'm not an expert handyman, the installation instructions were excellent and it was a lot easier than I had expected. It runs perfectly and it's substantially quieter than our old model.
What can you say about a disposal? Not much but this one does the job it was easy to install and has been problem free. It is not as noise as the old one, does not jam, and should last a long time. The price was right.
Solid well rounded unit with a stainless steel chamber. IT does like some of the features of its rivals, but overall it is a good mixture of price and features. Here is a short list of units one should consider when purchasing a continuous feed, and what makes them stand out compared to rivals.
Kenmore 3/4 horsepower Model 60572. The affordable option. While it has a plastic chamber, the other grinding parts are stainless steel. Frequently this unit can be found onsale for under 100 dollars. Its five year warranty is top in its class and its basic sound dampener helps keep the noise down... close...
