The Kenmore HE2 Plus Super Capacity Front Load Washer has received an average of 2.6 out of 5 stars. Nearly all reviewers express a sense of mediocrity about this washer. “I bought this washer two years ago and have been reasonably satisfied. I do notice that if I pack it full, the clothes do not get as clean as I would like,” says one reviewer. Although the machine features 3.6 cubic feet of washing space is seems to be finicky when it comes to large loads. Other reviewers complain of leaking problems, but that could be due to loads that are too large. To read all reviews of the Kenmore HE2 Plus Super Capacity Front Load Washer see below.

Satisfied...

Just bought the washer about 1 month ago. So can't really give a review on long term durability. But so far, I have good experience with this washer. It is very user friendly, efficient, great capacity, nice appearance. However, the vibration during the final spin is pretty unusual. Clothes come out... read full review »

Kenmore 3.6 cu. ft. HE2 Plus Super Capacity... Reviews

Yes, I bought one of these machines after reading the "gothic horrors" describes herein, but it was the only machine I could afford that was eligible for our LADWP (LA) rebate program which is quite generous if you buy one of the approved machines. So with trepidation I proceeded but determined to verify that the installation was exact to the manual specifications. Most important is the balancing to reduced the probability of the machine shaking itself apart. 1st installation: Completely botched. Not leveled - shaking. Plugs in rear not installed. And technician walked off with one of the extra...

Not worth the money

We have owned this machine just over three years.  We have had a repair man come in three times for it.  There is a trap under the bottom plate that needs to be cleaned out, not like you want to hang out on the floor unscrewing all the parts to this machine.  You will be amazed at what you find in there.  I cannot tell you how many socks we have found in there. Yes, the machine sucks up socks.  Today, the repairman told me the motor was gone.  It is only three years old.  We had a huge leak with it two days ago which flooded into our garage thank goodness, but did hit the main area of the...

If I could leave zero or negative stars, I would.  I thought I was doing a great thing going to high efficiency.  Sigh.  I purchased this machine in 2007.  It is barely 2 years old.  The computer went out for no good reason - no storm, not over used at all (single, no children).  Repair cost would be $320.  Ouch!  Part took 4 weeks to arrive.  The repairman put it in, and then said the motor board blew the new computer board.  Now I need a new motor board and a new, new computer board.  Forget it I say.  My confidence in this product is shot.  I will never buy a Kenmore product again...

After 2 years this washer has failed - the door locks and nothing else happens.  The Sears repair personnel are unable to determine the problem and unable to repair.  All they want to do is continue to throw parts into it hoping to find the problem.  I have told them to stop as they are obviously incapable of actually troubleshooting the problem.

I am going to replace this almost new washer with another brand and no more Kenmore/Sears products will ever be allowed into my house again.

Run Away as fast as you can!  As soon as the warranty runs out it will start defaulting 90% of the time.  The only thing I can count on is getting an F01 or a F11 code and having to drag soaking wet clothes out of the washer to wring out by hand .  After paying 15 dollars to chat on-line with a repairman and being told to replace the computer parts in it (he wasn't sure which one it needed and both together cost as much as the washer).  I will NEVER buy Kenmore again (or any other brand made by the same company.

The capacity of this machine is excellent. We can throw in the whole household load of thick bath towels, and they're dry in 45 minutes. Very quiet - with the door to the laundry room closed, I can barely hear this operating in the next room. We did not buy the extra stand to raise this up, and I have no problem stooping to scoop out laundry even with my back problems. It's easy to kneel and deal with the laundry there. I happily recommend this product to you.

Makes laundry easy!

I have had this washer & dryer for about 2 years now.  I do quite a bit of laundry with 3 sons & a husband who is a landscaper (at least 2 or more loads a day).  I have not had any problems with either appliance. It is not noisy, washes super fast, and has never leaked as some have stated. The dryer is so efficient, dries towels quickly and is quiet too. Sears delivered & installed it within 5 days of my order and were very pleasant to deal with.

I am amazed at this washer and dryer.  This handles big loads and small loads really well.  The clothes come out clean and it uses very little water.  The only issue can be the hi spin speed can make it a little noisier than normal, but the clothes come out almost dry.  This was a great purchase.

Don't waste your time

I have had this washer for just over a year......I hate it!!!!! the washing time says 53 minutes, but it actually takes well over an hour. The clothes smell if left in the washer for more than an hour after they are finished. I never shut the door when not in use and it still smells musty. And for the last 6 months every other wash gets a default number on it. Save yourself some aggravation..choose another washer.

I have owned this washer for 4 years!  The last top loader lasted for nearly my lifetime! It all began with streaks of what looked like grease on my white clothing.  I was furious, but tried troubleshooting.  The only possible answer was fabric softener buildup, so we pulled the washing maching out and cleaned it thoroughly.  That was one week ago.  The entire time I have owned this machine it has been extremely noisy, in fact, it shook my windows so hard that my baubles banged.  But, I figured it was just doing it's job, so lived with it.  However, the other night the noise became unbearable,...

Kenmore HE2

Purchased October 2009. Have not had any problems, washer and dry both are quiet. Have all necessary features; for the price and quality can't imagine upgrading. Two things I don't love, the washing time...53 minutes for a casual load and the preset temp on the machine is warm water wash...I wash just about everything in cold.

No disappointments!

Purchased this washer in May of 2009. After reading reviews keep waiting for something to go wrong but have been PLEASANTLY surprised. This washer gets clothes much cleaner than my old top loader and they are so dry from the high speed spinning when I remove them the dryer doesn't take any time at all to get them dry! My husband took time to balance the machine which keeps it from "walking" during the spinning. Hasn't moved at all. Like other reviewers we keep the door open for a few hours to let it air out so as not to take a chance on odor developing or mold. Controls are very easy to use and... read full review »

I bought this washer new in 2006 and would definitely purchase it again.  I have never had a problem with it.  It cleans my clothes more gently than the agitator washers I used to use and with much less water and detergent.   Also, it can spin most of the excess water out at the end of the wash cycle so that I'm also saving money on gas for the dryer.  I think after 3 years that it's probably given me back half of what it cost ($600 on sale) in savings on water, detergent and gas for the dryer.  If it keeps working this well, which I suspect it will, it'll pay for itself in a few more years....

Not a bad washer . . .

I bought this washer two years ago and have been reasonably satisfied. I do notice that if I pack it full, the clothes do not get as clean as I would like. Filling it 2/3 full seems to be okay and everything comes out clean. I can wash a set of queen sheets plus 6 pillow cases plus a double sheet and everything is fine. I have had to get used to the fact that it does not shrink the clothing. I used to buy cotton clothing too big because I knew it would shrink in the wash. With this washer, nothing shrinks. I love the fact it uses so much less water and electricity than the top loading machines.... read full review »
