Does what it's supposed to do

I wanted an upstairs refrigerator to hold milk for young kids.  I was concerned that it wouldn't get cold enough to adequately chill dairy, but it did.  I measured the temperature to be around 35 degrees.  I found the build quality to be better than many others (Magic Check looks like complete junk). ...

i ordered the 3.9 cu ft compact frig for my daughter to take to college.  Can't tell u if it works well or not, the item arrived so poorly packaged that it was damaged and had to be returned as was the second one they reshipped and the third one shipped.  I called to complain and Sears customer service...

Kenmore 3.9 cu. ft. Compact Refrigerator Reviews

This is a great deal.  I purchased the 3.9 cu compact refrigerator on-line and picked it up at my local Sears store.  It was on sale $35 less than the original price and lower than anything in it's catergory.  Once I got the unit home, I opened the carton only to discover the unit was damaged.  The carton had very little packing, and I could see how the unit got damaged even if it was slightly dropped.  The outside carton is bulky and slick.  Anyway, my luck, I called the store and they had no more left to exchange.  I was told more were coming within a few days.  This did not happen. ...

I love to sit on my screened porch almost year round.  I bought this Kenmore compact fridge to keep on the porch.  I have plenty of drinks and snacks handy without having to go in and out the porch door.  It saves alot on air conditioning too.  Even in the outside heat, everything stays cold.  Its nice when I have company, relaxing on the porch not to have to go thru the house to get drinks for everyone.  It holds enough to take care of friends thru the whole evening.  I really like my porch fridge.

I bought this refrigerator for my dorm room and I absolutely love it. It doesn't run very much, it's fairly quiet and it keeps things very cold. I would highly recommend it.

I purchased this little fridge to keep refreshments cool in the garage . It was a surprise so I had to carry it myself. It is light weight and small enough to fit in the backeat of my car. It only took an hour to cool and ONLY uses approximately $ 36 a year to run. Great Purchase...

Should have listened...

I read some reviews before I bought this fridge. I should have listened to them. But my options were limited, so I bought it. They are right in saying that only stuff on the bottom, or touching the sides freeze. Anything stacked above, does not. I switched places and put the frozen one on top and the unfrozen on the bottom. And I keep checking to see that the one on top didn't thaw out. Also, this fridge DOES NOT work well in heat. If it's used as a fridge only, or with very little in the freezer, it's fine. I'd take it back, but it's not feasable to do so.

Kenmore 3.9 cu ft. compact fridge--great for the money!  Works great, nice and quiet, takes up little floor space--is taller, but not wider than the little tiney ones.  A better value for your money--holds much more.  Nice condition, no dents, no problems--glad I bought it for my son's dorm room.  We will use it for our basement when he is done with it!  I usually like Kenmore products.

Works fine, but damaged

Refrigerator works fine and the small freezer compartment actually makes ice quite fast, but bottom, back right side is pushed in and does not sit suare on floor, even after adjusting foot pads. Trying to get a replacement, but have not heard back from Sears for 3 weeks.

This 3.9 cu. ft. refrigerator replaced another brand with 3.6 cu. ft. capacity but the new unit does not seem to hold as much as the old one which lasted 15 years.  The old one was self-defrosting which the new one is not.  But for our purposes, we are satisfied.

Loud & Annoying

When I bought this fridge, it didn't have any damages like the other reviews said theirs did, but it's always loud & doesn't keep my ice cream frozen. The freezer section has a lot of frost but doesn't really work. It wakes me up at night because it's so loud.

Ignore the so-called freezer.

I live in an efficiency apartment. The previous fridge died and the landlord replaced it with this model. I've been using it for 6 months now and it's been such a frustrating appliance that I had to review for others to know what I have gone through. I got this new during the summer. During warm summer days this fridge would freeze everything in it and cooler days it worked fine. The problem was each day I would turn the temp up or down. Imagine coming home to cook chicken and the top is a block and the other side is soft. The freezer would not keep ice solid during the summer. Once fall hit the... read full review »

Should have listened to the reviews....

The reviews for this refrigerator are right on. Perfect size and works fine...assuming you get one that only has cosmetic damage. I am now convinced that ALL of the 3.9 cu ft refrigerators are damaged after visiting their store in Ann Arbor. I took one back to my daughter's room..after reading the reviews and inspecting the box for damage. I thought I was safe. The box looked good so I bought it. After unpacking I found the right rear corner was badly dented in and could not be leveled. I went back to the store and returned it for another unit. We searched through 6-10 before we found one that... read full review »

Good value for price.

Bought it for dorm. Very good size for two to three persons. The adjustable screw at the bottom was a bit tight. Could not be loosened by hand. I had to use pliers for that. Other than that everything seems okay. I kept the thermostat at 3 for 3 to 4 dishes and it's keepng them cool enough.
