Having an older kitchen, I needed a smaller stove to replace that old stove. I shopped around and could not find a better price for the features. Only slight modifications needed to install into old cabinet. Easy DIY installation. Flipped on the breaker and it works like a champ.
In home delivery was way too expensive, so it was delivered to closest Sears store within a week.
Attractive stove with many features. Now looking for matching appliances. Finding the oven during a half price sale was a huge deal.
We purchased this almost a year ago and love it. Boils water quickly. Cleans up beautifully. Be careful it will scratch if you slide a pot across the top.
My only complaint is the finish wears off the knobs. Other than that A++++
After dealing with a 20+ year old cooktop, with only one working burner, and a constant knack for shocking you if you have damp hands; our family decided it was time to get a new one.
We chose this particular cooktop for a few reasons. First off, price. We felt that this particular item fell right in to our price range, with Christmas around the corner there is no need to spend to an arm and a leg for a range. Secondly, its size. In comparison to the old Jennair it was replacing, this range was the perfect size. I can not stress this point enough. Make sure you measure the opening and compare the...
read full review »I had a Kenmore coil-style cooktop for years. I've been remodelling and finally got to my kitchen. I went with the Kenmore smooth-style cooktop. No complaints. Cooking is easy and cleaning is easier. I like the dual size element too so I can cook small or larger dishes on the front burners.
I love my Kenmore Electric Cooktop Stove! It is so easy to clean up spills. No more digging down in the well to clean up the goop that collects there from cooking. I love to make home made candies and this stove works great for creating the right temperature for my chocolate to melt evenly. Best thing, it comes in black to matcch the rest of my appliances!
This Stove top is excellent. It is by far the most helpful tool in my kitchen. Love it, Thank you sears.
Have been using about 3 wks. and so far so good. Took me a little getting use to as I had coil burners before. Like the black but need to be careful about what cookware to use as to not leave marks. Use good cleaning cloth so it doesn't leave lint or smudges as I like a clear, streak free surface. Must wipe off after every use.
I've had this cooktop for nearly a year and it has been a joy. Very easy to clean, very hard to scratch, when polished, it looks like new. I haven't quite got the hand of the simmer element yet, but all the others work just as expected. I'm thrilled with this product and would highly recommend it. As for the simmer, it seems too low to really simmer and when not on simmer, way too high for most applications besides stir fry which requires very high heat.
Loved the operation, but difficult to clean. Unexplained crack across the top surface between the right and left burners appeared after 2 years of use. Nothing was ever dropped on the surface.
I was leary of using the radiant heating elements but after a short test period, I'm happy with the range. The burners cook hot but careful adjustment of controls gives good performance. I might even save electricity with burners that come on and off to meet the heat demand. I had to get used to the burners turning off and on during the cooking cycle. Also the warning lights that stay on after the burner is turned off threw me but I realize they are a necessary safety feature because the burner surface stays very hot after the burner is turned off. My old electric range provided a burner with...
