We purchased the Sears Kenmore 5261 Updraft Range Hood to compliment our new Kenmore range. As our old set was bisque, we had to replace our range hood when we bought a new range. We had compared the very similar Kenmore Elite and this model. As we do not have outside venting and cannot add such to our...

lights not in right area, too hot

The lights on this model only really light up the front of the stove. The back burners get less light, and the halogen bulbs burn really hot. I wonder if this could be a fire hazard. Other than that, the hood is very attractive and seems to move the air well. Since I just had it installed, I will... read full review »

Looks nice, but can be loud

Pros: design is sleek, fits in with the look of our other appliances. Fan on low setting is ultra-quiet; I couldn't even tell it was running without getting right next to it. Cons: fan on high setting generates a lot of air noise, but still a bit quieter than the old one that was there.

Relatively easy to install, quiet in operation, a great value for the money. The two fan speeds and two light settings give good options.

Quiet beauty

This range hood was installed to replace an old range hood that was white and very noisey. I was attracked to this product because of the more efficient, stronger fan and because it is stainless steel to match my new range. I was amazed how quiet the fan is. I also appreciate the two halogen spot lamps. This was a beautiful addition to the kitchen, but was amazed at the quality of the product for the price.

I love this bad boy!

This is a wonderful vent for the money. $150 bucks you get a great looking hood that moves the air well. For people who cook fish like I do, you should go to the next one in the line. I was to cheep for my own good and thought I could do with out the extra C.F.M.s but now I wish I would have spent the money. All and all this is a wonderful buy.

Hot Air Mover

My husband and I recently purchased this stovehood for our new home. Although my husband wanted to buy the stainless steel model our other appliances were white,so we purchased it in white also. The sleek design and modern look appealed to both of us. The dual exhaust option was a plus, you can have it vented(run the duct out the wall or roof) or just circulate the air. The charcoal filters removes unpleasant odors. We are very pleased with the easy installlation (my husband installed ours) and quality of this hood.

It looks so great with Nite light during night time and High light during cook time. Good thing that Ranger Hood is'nt require have duct for fan. But it has either with or without duct.

Nice!

This replaced my 30+ year old vented hood. My old hood never worked well 15 years ago when we bought the house, but it moved some air. My wife liked this hood because of the wrap around design from the top to the underside. It will be easy to keep clean, unlike cheaper models, or our old one. I liked it because it moves 200 cfm and is rated as being quiet. I have a 5 inch tv on the counter next to my stove. I spend a lot of time cooking for our family and it is hard to hear Judge Alex over a loud exhaust fan. This one is much more quiet. I can hear the tv fine, and talk on the phone as... read full review »
