Kenmore 30" Freestanding Gas Range 7746 —
This oven is a beautiful addition to our kitchen, it looks great! We decided on a kenmore after a lot of research, this model is rated really well by **************** and it is certainly one of the more affordable options from the list. It takes a little longer to heat up than I had expected, but is still an improvement from what we started with.
Pros - I love the different sized burners, the large one is really great for my big soup pot and I use the littlest one all the time for simmering sauces and my little pans. All the options are great too - warm setting and baking timer! The inside is really large compared to our old oven, definitely space for cooking multiple dishes at once. Everything has seemed to cook really quickly and evenly.
Cons - The top is black and really hard to keep clean!! Every little splatter of food, oil, or water stands out and wiping it leaves streaks all over. The display if you are timing or cooking shows only the temperature or the timer, there is not room for the actual time, which I miss because I am often cooking multiple things at once and use the clock to keep track of times other than what's in the oven. The flames in the base of the oven turn on and off during cooking and are really loud, I can hear them 2 rooms away! And during broiling there is a good deal of smoke that comes out of the vent above the burners and blow the touch pad, we have to keep the fan on high.
Over all I am really happy with our purchase. All of the cons do not affect the performance and are just little quirks that I have noticed and am getting used to. Nothing that's a deal breaker!
