The kenmore 300 water softener saves on water and salt by calling for the regeneration process only when needed unlike the old systems that ran on a timed delay even when it was not needed. With the tank in the salt holding unit it also takes up less room. Good price and great quality=soft water.

not so good on taste

I like that it gives me soft water, but the problem is, when I talked to them at sears, they said it would be alright to install it for the whole house, because the drinking water would taste better, Well it does"t in fact it taste funny, It leaves an after taste, and my cat won"t even drink it, so I... read full review »

A Great Buy

So, how many of us have been slammed with the companies that want to sell you a water system that is going to take you YEARS to pay off? Well, I fell for that once in one property we owned. In the home we have now, we replaced a non working commercial unit with this Kenmore Model. We have had it in place for over 6 months are are totally pleased. It is was easy to install with the help of our neighborhood handy man, and we are enjoying great water! It is a worthwhile budget expense!

Kenmore Water Softener

I bought this product yesterday and installed it in about 15 minutes while replacing water lines to the house. This morning when I took a shower I was amazed at the difference! My dishes usually come out of the dishwasher with a white film on them, my clear glass dishes are look horrible not to mention the silverware. I washed a load of dishes and drank some of the water, the dishes came out clear and clean and the water tastes great!! I would definitely reccomend this to a friend or anyone wishing to get rid of the hard water!!!

They don't last forever!!!

Ive installed 2 Kenmore softeners in my house in 8 years. All the comments were positive but all units were newly installed. Mine worked "five stars" then too. I think they should last longer than 3-4 years. I have good quality city water also. I ran out of salt for a few days and it hasn't worked since. I won't buy another!

The Series 300 (The new Lady Kenmore)

We just purchased a Kenmore series 300 on 4/25/08. We bought this model because its specifications were almost identical to the Lady Kenmore water softener we bought in Jan. of 92. That water softener, a floor model, lasted 16 years 4 months. We purchased the series 300 just a few days after the Lady Kenmore finally broke down. When we purchased the Lady Kenmore we bought the extended warranty. We only had two calls under the warranty for repairs in the first two years. After that it worked flawlessly. The series 300 works a lot quieter that the older model. One reminder, the brine float settings... read full review »

water softener

I would highly recommend this water softener for ease of installation by homeowner. It uses less salt than the one we had and the water is wonderfully soft. Its quiet. We never hear it run in the night. It has a clean look and can be easily wiped down if it gets dusty in the garage in the desert (where we live). Its just great and if it ever quits we will buy another Sears water softener. I am hoping to win this review sweepstakes so I can buy a Sears washing machine too! The reliability of the Kenmore name precedes the product by homeowner word of mouth. Our water is awfully hard here and a water... read full review »

Kenmore 300 series water softener

I shopped for a water softener in many stores. When I examined the 300 at sears it had every thing I wanted. They are: Price. Very clear cut directions and easy to follow and understand. The controls and their location are outstanding. Very easy to use and understand. The unit is super quiet. It's no usage if not used is great. Appearance is very nice. The installer and installation was superb. Compared to what I had and what I shopped for, no other unit comes close.

Why I choose a Kenmore from Sears

In the past 10 years I have gone thru 4 water softeners! I purchased a home with an older Kenmore model. I decided to replace it with a newer model from another company, thinking that "all" water softener's worked the same. I was wrong. NOT only did my hair break off as rust came thru the softeners but they looked ugly! They were not in a nice container. They were two large ugly barrels! I will never purchase another water softener from another company again, no matter what the claims are, because I have learned the hard way that Kenmore is a brand I can trust.

Worked For Us!

We moved into a new home with extremely hard water. Other units we looked at were very expensive and didn't have the simple/ effective features that we were looking for. It was very easy to install and the instructions helped us get the right settings for the softest water possible. Great product.

What can I say, the water was hard and now its soft. I got prices that were in excess of $1000 for a system and this unit was under $500.

Water softner

The water feels fresh and soft on skin & hair. I do not have to spend hours everyday cleaning my tubs. Our water bill, however, has gone up just a little but that's nothing compared to the daily satisfaction of a wonderful morning shower! If you don't have it, buy it & feel the difference!
