I bought this as a Wedding anniversary for my wife, and I did more research than probably the average person. I was torn between this model and a different Danby model, finally settling on this one at the last minute, even though there wasn't a lot of reviews on it. I gotta say I am extremely pleased!...

Kenmore 35 Bottle Wine Cellar - noisy, you better keep it far away from your bedroom or even TV room Temperature control is a joke. It kept 46F on max setting and 48F on min. setting. It is OK for keeping your drinks cold. But to call this refrigerator "Wine Cellar" is too much.... The one huge plus... read full review »

Load Banging Noise, Going Back

Every night when we settle down to watch TV we start hearing this wine cooler giving a bang noise every hour or so.  We first thought it was the refrigerator because that is a Kenmore Pro which isn't the best either and going back.  Reading people are not happy with the temperature this is producing can't comment on it because I don't drink wine.  I've served from it with no complaints, found the soda's I store are a bit warmer than I would like.  I will write more when I get the new one and use it for a longer period of time.

I did some major research on wine cellars, and I couldn't find anything definitive on this particular Kenmore model (35).  There is some mention of the Elite (38) model, see ****************, Consumersearch, etc., but I finally made up my mind by talking to people who sell and fix appliances.  They said that the Kenmore is a good product.  Every product or brand has an occasional "dud", and those are the people who tend to complain or make a fuss.  Satisfied people just appreciate the fact that a product works; very satisfied people tell other people and write positive reviews.

For the price...

The thermostat on this unit broke about 13 months into my purchase, the LED was flashing and I could not control the temp anymore.  It was chilling wines down to 40 degrees and throwing off a lot of condensation.  I called Sears, but it was out of warranty and a technician's visit was going to cost half the purchase price.  It's now a storage cabinet in my larger wine cellar.

Looks great!  Chills our beverages well (pop, beer, water, wine).  Colder near the bottom, so if you want your pop colder, put your wine bottles near the top.  Does exactly what we wanted it to do!  Very pleased.  Nice price.

No Temp Setting

I bought one, set it up, and the temp does not move from 49 degrees however we set it. A Sears repairman installed a new thermostat. Still only goes to 49 degrees and stays there. We exchanged for another unit. Goes to 49 degrees and won't budge a degree higher unless we turn it off. We'll be returning it for a refund.

Great for beverages

I purchased this product because previous reviews stated that it was too cold for wine. I like very cold soft drinks, bottled water, white wine, so this product has been perfect for my family. It holds several canned drinks lying down. It would be difficult to put drinks in standing up because shelf height is narrow and cans would tip due to the wire racks not being solid. I have been extremely satisfied with this cooler. I would not recommend it for wine drinkers-the temps stay too cool for most.

good deal, looks nice but temp problems

Got the Kenmore Elite version, and mine does not have a temperature adjustment on the back as one reviewer stated. This was a great deal from Sears, looks nice, but runs a bit cold at its warmest setting if you are storing reds. Also- my main issue with the unit- whenever the power goes off or flickers ( which it does often in our neighborhood), the unit resets to its coldest setting. So, many mornings I notice this has been running super cold all night. just a warning!

Great Value

I purchased this cooler two months ago as additional capacity to the cooler I have installed in the kitchen. The small footprint relative to the capacity is a great feature, as well as the price. The only small challenge has been to regulate the temperature ... I purchased a thermometer and hung it inside the cooler. It takes a bit of adjusting to get the temperature to remain in the preferred range, but all told, given the price, capacity and quality of the unit, it's a screaming deal as additional storage capacity, or for those who are on a limited budget or have limited space. I have recommended... read full review »

Not really a wine cooler

Bought it 2 months ago and have not been able to set the temp on it. It drops down to 35 and stays there! I should have read the reviews before buying this! I guess they just stuck a glass door on a dorm frig and called it a "Wine Cooler."

Corked

This item had wide variations in temperature, usually 5 degree swings too hot or too cold. It died after two years, out of warranty. The repair estimate was $200 for labor plus parts; it could end up being more than the original cost. This is a throwaway item, use it at you own risk.

Horrible Thermostat

Like several of the other reviewers the temperature of this "cellar" is far too cold. Even on the "warmest" setting for the thermostat the temperature was close to 44F. It is really just a refrigerator with a glass door.

Way too cold

Even with the thermostat set to the warmest position, it is still between 42-46 degrees.

Nice for the Price

You know it does have a temperature control dial on the back, right? You can vary the temp a good 20 degrees. I bought a cheap fridge thermometer to stick in there and have mine at a consistent 55 degrees.
