We replaced a 12 year old Kenmore water softener that had developed a crack in the resin tank (it lasted 12 years, and we were pleased with its lifetime performance) with the Kenmore 350 and we couldn't be happier.  Right off the bat we noticed this guy uses less salt that our previous water softener -- perhaps because of a newer design?  Whatever the reason, it was a pleasant surprise!

After almost a year of operation, we couldn't be more pleased with the 350.  It does a great job of getting rid of hard water.  We noticed the difference the very next day after we installed it (to our surprise,...

Out with the old, In with the new.

I just replace a 14-yr. old Sears Kenmore Water softener (625.3484500), which we purchased new. We replaced it with an almost identical Kenmore water softener (625.383560). We have been very pleased with the performance and reliability of the old Kenmore unit. The old unit was still working (regenerating) however I think the resin bed was probably 'used up' since it didn't seem to produce soft water for long despite several attempt to clean the resin bed. I considered just replacing the resin bed but decided the old unit had 'paid for itself' and it was time for a new unit. Most websites I checked... read full review »

No more Iron

For years we had two expensive tanks, one for iron removal, the other to aid the softener. Our iron rating is 5.0 and this model 350 will clear up to 9.0 We have had no iron staining since installation, and no longer have the two huge tanks to contend with and spend money on.

So far so good

After deciding I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars for the big companies to install one, I decided on the Kenmore because of the reviews. I have had it for over a month now and it softens the water very nicely. Since I built my house w/ a water softner loop pre-plumbed I was able to install it myself and save a considerable amount of money. For living out in the Hill Country and having VERY HARD water I am impressed so far. And for the price, I got off paying about 25% of what those crazy water people wanted. My brother wants one now. Hope this helps.

Sears Scores Again!

I am extremely pleased with this softener overall and look forward to many years of service! I REALLY hate plumbing work but hate paying plumbers rates even more! After researching various purifiers and water softeners, I finally decided on a whole house carbon filtration system combined with the Sears Kenmore water softener. Anticipating an ordeal by installing the unit(s) myself, I was pleasantly surprised when everything went together smoothly. The system is sturdy, quiet, efficient, and has more than enough programming options to satisfy even the most demanding water situations. This system... read full review »

Ease of Use

This water softner was a very easy appliance to install. It's easy to read instructions were very complete and understandable. Ease of operation is what we like. The low salt monitor is great and we have noticed a significant increase in water softness with respect to shower and tub cleaning as well as laundry softness. Dishes from our dishwasher come out much cleaner, spot and film free. Great service from a great product.

The Series 350 is a best buy

We replaced our old Sears unit and installation and setup was very easy- only had to raise the height of the water valve couplers. The water is very soft and since this unit senses when to recharge it recycles much less often and uses much less salt and water than our older unit. Only wish the display had an indication that it ran because being so much quieter than our old unit we rarely hear it run at 2AM !

Kinda Works

Doesn't really seem to soften the water, I even ran the regenerate cycle the first day, still marginal. I switched from a Culligan tank exchange program, so at least I don't have to swap tanks anymore. The water here is an 8 hardness, so I guess I will call the 800 number and see what Sears will do.
