“Excellent Replacement”

Kenmore 350 Series Water Softener — 

We have had Sears water softeners for many years. However we recently moved to a house that had an old Culligan unit. It used a lot of salt. We replaced it with this Sears softener and after over a month the salt tank is still 3/4 full. By this time the Culligan would have used 4 bags of salt. I appreciate the LCD display but like a few of the other reviewers I would have liked an illuminated display. I have to use a flashlight to check the settings. I had the unit installed by the Sears installer and was hit by an additional charge of $250. It was not a simple installation as I had the water heater replaced at the same time but I think it was a little excessive.
