SO FAR, SO GOOD

I got this grill as an early Father's Day gift from my wife. We bought it at Sears and took advantage of the free assembly. So far I've used it twice. The first time I cooked some sirloin steaks, and the second I actually grilled some short ribs that were wrapped in foil. Both times I was satisfied with... read full review »

Stay clear

The first time I cooked on this grill I could not get the grates clean, I used a brass brush and also soaked in soapy water. I called the store and they exchanged them, they said there could have been some chemical on them. I tried using cooking spray fro grilling the next time, still everything stuck... read full review »

Kenmore 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side and Back... Reviews

BUYER BEWARE!!!

I echo a previous review in saying that the grill's finish is totally unsatisfactory. In this price range, a grill should provide years of service. Even though my grill is still under warranty, the provided warranty does not cover corrosion. So what I have is an expensive grill covered in rust (while still under warranty). Sears has declined several attempts to get this issue corrected. My patience has worn out with Sears and Kenmore's cheap material selection.

The "stainless steel" is covered in rust and the black finish is starting to show signs of serious wear even though this grill is...

Many negative comments here regarding assembly.  First off, if you have no mechanical aptitude, do not do this. The store will build this for free!  I had absolutely no problems at all, and it is plenty sturdy, and lights and grills like a champ. Most of these reviews would be much higher had they let sears build it and bring it home assembled. I am very happy with this grill. More importantly....my wife loves it. A WIN WIN.

I got this on sale for $269. a comparable weber which I had considered would have been $549. Too much money to cook meat!

Assembly instructions not as friendly as i'd have expected though but i was able to make it..I did not expect it to take so long to be put together; even at the end i was left with couple small pieces that i didn't see any instruction on how to use or "Where" to use! kept guessing but finally throe them away!

Good grill, but misleading warranty

Grill cooks well, but I'm very disappointed by the warranty. Many components are advertised to be covered for more than one year (ex. Burners 10 years), but the warranty fine print says that I have to pay for service to get them replaced after a year. Service is so expensive that, in practice, all warranties expire after a year. Also, the grill seems much harder to clean than other models I had before (Weber).

Item# 07116643000 Model# 720-0670

I agree with the first reviewer, the instructions could have been better but it was still easy to assemble, light and easy to handle, and took common hand tools. The BBQ is very good looking and seems to cook evenly. Problem was that some parts were scuffed up and slightly bent. Also, the last Kenmore BBQ I owned was purchased in 1999, almost 10 years ago. Today's BBQ's are very light as a result of using much thinner sheet metal. I was amazed at how 'flimsy' this BBQ is compared to my older one, not nearly constructed to the same quality and this is a better one, I can only imagine what the cheap... read full review »

Cheaply made grill, poor instructions.

Just finished putting the grill together and I'm greatly disappointed. Assembly almost resulted in "grill rage" with a YouTube video of me smashing the grill with a 12 lb. sledge. Very poor written instructions, completely missing the assembly of some pieces. Drawings didn't match actual pieces, grammer made it difficult to determine what they were trying to instruct you to do. Flimsy sheet metal. Like some other reviewers mine came with a bent corner (an important corner), even though the box was intact. I don't have high expectations for durability of this grill or it's grilling capability after... read full review »

Over priced and underbuilt

With reading the reviews posted (none were avail prior to purchase)I agree with several points. The unit instructions were fair to use but the illustrations were VERY poor and hard to view. The quality of this unit is NOTHING like other grills I have owned from sears even just three years ago ( I am going to rebuild my old one after seeing this unit). The sheet metal is VERY thin on this unit and is very concerning to me for any extended use. Sears did do a good job with the burners on this unit and the cooking quality is good however, it is not a quality product overall, for this price range.... read full review »

S'alright

I agree that the instructions for this grill stink. I did realize that when attaching the side shelves that the two screws that attach toward the top underneath the shelf have to come from inside the grill. This was not made clear in the instructions and really made it feel a lot sturdier. before I realized to change the screws, I felt that the sides would snap off if I tried to move the grill. I also had to use some of my own extra lock washers. They don't give you enough for what they tell you to use in the book. Other than that, I feel that the grill is pretty strong. Got the doors swinging...

assembly patience

this is a great barbeq 4 the price.assembly instructions not very good.easy up until they tell you to install heat shield for rotisserie burner.at this point a good picture would go a long way.the picture supplied is useless even with magnifing glass.after much patience and trial and error found only screw holes and location that made sense.unit has nice even heat and barbequed perfect filet mignon steaks first time i tried. will try rotisserie next and let you know how that works out.i bought rotisserie and grill cover at time of purchase.remember this is not 304 stainless, rather 400 stainless... read full review »
