Excellent Water heater choice

This is my 3rd Sears water heater over the last 26 years. This time I cut down the size from 60 to forty gallons. Sears is an excellent company to deal with even when it comes to warranty issues!! I highlt recommend Sears Water heaters. Even with a smaller 40 gallon tank we never run out of hot water.... read full review »

I have a Kenmore Power Miser 9. Model # 153.32946, if you are looking for a hot water heater, run quickly in the opposite direction if anyone tries to sell you one of these. Sears, shame on you for keeping it in stock. It leaks and will not give hot water. I am very disappointed and will NEVER purchase...

I have a Kenmore Power Miser 9. Model # 153.32946 Serial # G04136386. I purchased the original unit in Nov. of 2003. I replaced it due to leaking in Jan 2005. In 2005, Sears was superb in honoring the warranty. Today the unit I have started leaking. I called the retail store I have frequented first and was told I need to call the "water hot line" 1-800-469-4663. I did and got another number to call. I then called the service # 1-800-251-5630. leaks

I have well water with a water purifier and the tank is leaking after 6 yrs after the first one was replaced due to the same reason, two tanks leaking after 6 years. Maybe they should call it power miser 6. They did replace the first one and only charged me for the labor which was as much as the heater being I can put it in myself I didn't save any money just my time.

nice but low temps

We just purchased our new Sears waster heater and the installation was pretty straight forward. The only complaint I have is the temp of the water doesn't seem to be all that hot. I can keep my hand under the water without discomfort. It is hot but no where near as hot as the previous water heater. I can find nothing on the output temps so I am curious if this is rated as an energy saving water heater by turning the temp down.

Bought this one because I needed to use my Sears card & it was the only electric water heater they had in stock.
