“93RD DAY FAILURE”

Kenmore 40 gal. Water Heater — 

This unit failed on Day 93. It is Sunday and a technician cannot arrive until late tomorrow. This "self powered" electronic control apparently isn't fully realized technology. With no backup power to the controller I'm stuck with cold water with all the house lights on. I'd avoid this technology for a few years and see if it evolves into something more reliable. Save yourself some money and coldwater grief and buy a conventional controlled water heater. Setting it to 125 degrees will probably save you more than this "hydrosense controller" will.
