“Wet, mildewed basement”

Kenmore 5,000 BTU Single Room Air Conditioner — 

I live in a basement with no AC and for years during the summer needed dehumidifiers. When replacing a casement window I upgraded and used a smaller than normal window. this AC unit really should not be used for the entire large basement but it not only cools the room I sleep in completely down but it also dehumidifies the entirement. As for the loudness of it, It is acceptable. The first one I bought died two days after getting it but one call and a trip later had the second. Three yrs later no issues. I would recommend for a living room. Also it is light weight enough that 3 weeks after having abdominal surgery I could place it in the window with no help at all. I had wasted 300.00 on a portable AC that did not do half the job this little AC does.
