Cools good but leaks water

Kenmore 5,000 BTU Single Room Air Conditioner —

I am not really sure what to say about these air conditioners. I own three of these units. All three of them cool the air wonderfully. I bought them two or three years ago and they are still running strong. I run them pretty much 24/7 during the summer. They cool a much bigger area than intended but since moving into my new home one leaks water. We also have standard size newer windows. I also have a problem with getting them to fit in my window. It says they are supposed to fit up to a 35 inch window but they do not. I had to put them in my smaller windows that are 29 inches and they are pretty much fully extended. I tried to put them in my 35 inch windows and they were too small. That I can live with but the leaking water from the one unit is a pain. I am always having to open the window and tip the a/c unit backwards to drain the water and then in the middle of the night last night I was awakened to hear water dripping onto the floor! So this morning I put one we had in our closet that we had not yet used this summer into the window and that one is not leaking water! The other thing I don't like about these units is that the air comes out of the top instead of the front which interfears with the mini blinds. All in all I would not purchase this model again. I do love Kenmore products and they cool the room excellent but the leaking water is a major pain!
