Repair needed after 3 months

Kenmore 50 gal. Water Heater —

Tank is a good design but after only 3 months I have a Thermopile error and no hot water. I called service right away and can not receive service for 5 days. I was informed that Sears no longer offers emergency service. I think that they should inform you of that when you purchase a service agreement.

They replaced 6 parts through out the 3 years. I do not understand why they wanted my family to suffer. I feel they should have addressed this in 2007 when we had problems. I begged for help, I have gone without hot water at least over 30 DAYS in the last 2 years. They at one time told me it would be 2 weeks before they could has service man could come to my house. How RUDE! Always buy extended warranty. Thank Goodness service man told me I needed it because they had SO MANY problems with this model. Otherwise I would have to pay for each service call. They still choose no to do anything. I still can't believe they were not willing to help me. I was not even offered any type of compensation...new water heater came after threats of reporting to T.V. station that Sears was not honoring their "lemon law" in their extended warranty. Sad you have to buy extended warranty because you have had to have service man in your home over 5 times in one year. Sometimes it would be 3 days in a row. They would leave in 1/2 hour water heater would not work again. I do not like the way they are treating people who are spending good money in your store. I must say service men have been very kind. Look out for scheduling work...those people don't care.

I had problems with my water heater that I purchased in 2007. I had people out every 3 mo. went for weeks without hotwater through the last 3 years. After extended warranty I still needed service person at my home almost every 2 months. I was very disappointed after 3 yrs and several service calls a year. I got my new replacement due to the "Lemon Law" To bad sears doesn't care if you have hot water, it has been 10 days this time. I would they would at least compensate for our inconvience.
