Installed the water heater and it did not work. Tried every thing possible to figure out if I installed it wrong before calling Sears to send out a service tech. Well they sent out a tech and he discovered that both of the elements were bad. BRAND NEW WATER HEATER!! Go figure. Needless to say, they did not charge us for the call!! :) It's been working great ever since!!

my father recently purchased a walk in tub. His previous 40 gal, 5 yr old, electric water heater, could not keep up. He picked out this 55 gal Kenmore and let's just say, size does matter. He can now fill the tub to within 2 inches from the very top with hot water and be able to enjoy the tub's jets. Sears seriously messed up with the delivery and installation process, but that's a whole other issue.

I have purchased the kenmore water heater since December 1994 and never had any problem until today Oct 21, 2011 the Unit started to leak from the top. I am looking foward to buy another one today.I hope that Sears give a great discount for another one.

Do not know why I did not buy this water heater before. It's ease of installation and excellent reference should have made me buy this heater last year. It only took me 25 minutes to completely install and has performed flawlessly. thank you Sears. p.s. in store pick up took two minutes. great

Old Water Heater stop working. The Customer Service rep at Sears helped explain and pick out a replacement water heater. Delivery and Install were quick and easy. Nice to have hot water again!...

Not being prepared to replace our old water heater, we decided to go with this one since it was on sale "price was right" and we are pleasantly surprised. Straight forward install and works fine.

I don't normally leave reviews on items I purchase, but this water heater has left me so impressed that I thought I should leave a review to help others. My husband & I bought this water heater to replace our leaking worn out 1991 gas water heater. A normal shower consisted of turning up the heat on the water during the shower about 10 times and then we had to wait at least 10 minutes between showers to make sure the next person would have some warm water left.

My husband installed the water heater and turned on both heating elements and then we turned the heat up a bit on the stat - but I am thinking about turning it down because it is really HOT!!! Anyway after it was installed we gave it about an hour before running any hot water to make sure it had enough time to heat up. Then we took 3 back to back 10-15 minute showers (there are 4 of us in the household) and everyone had hot water with no need to turn it up during the shower !!! It was awesome.

We have now had the water heater...

I purchased this water heater to replace the 50 Gal. version of it I had for over 10 years, I only got it because I was replacing the floor under it and figured for such a great price, I might as well get it.

I got the bigger version because of kids using the hot water in the morning, now I can take a hot shower too.

I also had great service when I made the call about a question I had.

Exceptional value for the price. We didn't have a lot of cash but needed a large capacity heater. This has fit the bill nicely. Plently of hot water! Seems to be very well constructed. Too early to tell on durability as it is brand new, but my initial reaction is that this is a fantastic buy. Very happy.

I had one of these put in on 2-20-2007, it went completely out on 05-19-2010. That is 3 years and 3 months. I think that is enough said.

I bought this water heater and installed it on 3-27-2010. Not very hard to install if you are a do it you self kind of person. Very impressed with the performance so far. Very quiet and reheats the water in a short period of time. After complete installation and letting the water be heated, I drained out the water heater after letting the tank run down to 87 degrees out of the faucet in 24 minutes at 2gallon per minute. The temperature started at 115 degrees for starters. The water heater returned the water out of the faucet to 104 degrees in 10 minutes and 110 degrees after 15 minutes and 115 degrees after 20 minutes. I did change the lower element wiring to 5500 as the manual explained. Also the water entering the tank is currently 55 degrees. Our family of four will certinly enjoy hot water for many busy mornings to come. Hope this info helps you out. Jefferson City Mo.

I feel I got a great deal on this water heater, and after running the numbers, couldn't justify a more expensive model. Spending substantially more up front didn't pay off until 7-8 years down the road at best. Higher priced models gave longer warranties...probably more of an advantage than the slight energy savings I could determine. We have had this for about 2 months now, and have left it at the 3800 watt factory setting without any lack of hot water.(this heater can be converted to 5200 watts)

2 bathroom home with lots of laundry,dishes,showers, guests etc. This was a replacement for a 30 year old, 40 gallon unit that was leaking. Slight piping modifications were required, due to extra height of this heater, but I knew that from product specs. and had no problem installing myself. Sears was great to work with. Bought online and picked up at store. They even discounted to a newly announced sale price upon pick-up!

I just bought this water heater 02/23/09.Im very pleased with its performance.Very quite, easy to install,quick to heat..and farily light.and being able to adjust the temperature and being able to read it was a plus (never knew that i could do that in the past)...I reccomend not hauling it with a car..mine barely fit and was a very uncomortable ride home..It happens to be very bulky.I strongly recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a water heater ( electric )...Thanks Sears...

I recently purchased this hot water heater after going from gas to electric in my home, this first one I bought did not work as it was supposed to, so the manager at my local sears store was kind enough to exchange mine for a new one. I am very pleased with this one, it is quiet, efficient and very easy to set the controls for the heating elements. I will definitely be purchasing more products from sears....
