Bought this to replace my older Kenmore 5,500 BTU air conditioner after it started to act up. Over all I am very happy with this unit. It is low profile an doesn't take up the whole window. It's design also doesn't detract from the room that it is in. For looks I give it 5 stars. It cools my approximately 11 x 11 bedroom with no problem. During the day I even leave the door open to help out my 12,000 BTU cooling the rest of the house and it still maintains the room's temperature with ease. The remote is great although I feel it makes me even more lazy. It is also nice that the same remote works...
read full review »I bought one of these beauties in 2006. It outperforms and is much quieter than any other unit I've ever owned. Really does a great job in a large room or even two small joined rooms. Dries and cools wonderfully. 5 Stars out of 5. Can't do better than this one! The through-window part of it is lower than the outside box. Easy to carry and well-balanced. Great unit! At the sale price what a bargain.
I bought ours in the spring of 2008 and yesterday I just installed it again for the summer. Installation is not difficult, and the use of the bracket aids stability on the window sill. If you can use a measuring tape, drill two holes and use a screwdriver, you can install the bracket and thus this unit. I don't think it's all that noisy, although it depends on how snugly you install it. I cut a small board to wedge the window shut and vibration is minimal. Our 7 month old daughter sleeps literally two feet from it. It cools quite well. Our master suite is about 15x25 ft and it brings...
read full review »We bought this Kenmore Air Conditioner for a bedroom and we're extremely pleased with it! It works wonderfully, is quiet, and we really love the fact that it takes up less window space inside and out because of it's streamline design & size. If you're looking for a 6,000 BTU air conditioner with great features and performance this Kenmore is the one to pick! We'd buy another one without any hesitation. Enjoy!
I was concerned about using an air conditioning unit in the second floor front window, but this low profile design is attractive enough so that it doesn't detract from the exterior look of our home.
The cost of cooling our home was becoming overwhelming, and we'd have to turn up the air in the entire house to get the second floor cool enough. This unit allows us to keep our house at a much lower temperature while letting us sleep in comfort.
The unit is efficient and quiet. The installation was quick and simple. I highly recommend it.
We purchased this window unit several years ago. It is made by LG. The unit replaced a larger btu unit and does a better job of cooling than the old unit. It is very quiet and really circulates the air in the room. The remote is handy and the timer feature is also a great feature.
We installed this unit in our master bedroom window. Instead of lowering the thermostat on our whole house a/c unit, we have always used a small unit in that bedroom. There are only two of us and cooling the entire house would be a waste of money. We can keep our main thermostat at 78 degrees while we are away at work...
read full review »I purchased this A/C last year and have been pleased with its performance. We use it in a bedroom which faces west, so the room gets very warm before bedtime. A friend of mine helped me put it in (two middle-aged women), so the installation was fairly simple. We had to drill some holes and use a screwdriver.
The low profile is the feature that caused me to decide on this A/C, and I've been pleased with its appearance. I think it increased our energy bill about $10 a month, but we don't run it all day. The side expanders were difficult to pull out from the base. For a window unit, it's fairly...
read full review »Overall we have been very happy with the air conditioner and it cools our bedroom very efficiently. The unit is, however, noisy at times. It runs for a short period of time when on energy saver and then shuts off only to run again very shortly thereafter. Overall, however, the unit is very good and the fact that it is less obtrusive than other models is helpful.
Bought this in '06 and used it in our 13x15 bedroom. We do not have central air and don't need it for the house, but our bedroom faces the west and gets too warm in the evening. I installed it in a south window and it is pretty easy. Being a small unit one person can lift it and get it in place. The unit works great and after 2 years I installed it in the wall just so I would not have to keep taking it in and out of the window. My wife was not too happy that it blocked some of the light coming into the room, but now it's great. I would not recommend this unit for through the wall mounting...
read full review »I bought this unit in the summer of 2006 to cool off the Master bedroom in a 900 sq ft house without central air conditioning. What I found is that it cooled off the Master and the overflow kept the main room below 74 as well and removed a ton of moisture from the air. I was thrilled with it. Yes, it is noisy when the compressor cycles on, but most AC's are. I use it to cool the Master down before I go to bed then turn it off and I'm usually fine for the night. It can easily take a room down to 65 if you set the thermostate that low. I also LOVE the timer feature. I could set it to...
read full review »I bought one of these window airconditioners (#75062) last summer for a bedroom. This year I went back and bought two more. These units a very good looking and quiet, and do a wonderful job of cooling off single rooms. They are energy efficient and have an E.E.R. of 10.7 so running the unit is only projected to cost $45.00 for the season. They are very compact and don't block the whole view of the window. Very easy to install, only a screw driver is needed. Once again Sears comes through for me when I need them most!
