After about a year the dryer stopped getting hot and drying clothes. Vents are clean and lint free. Whether timed or auto sensor, clothes won't dry. Also experience the lound thump others report.

This has been a very good washer for us. Bought it because the old one died and I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on lots of bells and whistles. This does a great job. Not a big fan of the top access lint trap, as it seems to leak lint as you pull it out. You have to wipe off the top of the dryer every couple of loads.

Other than than, it does a really good job drying.

The other day I thru some clothes in the dryer to find that it will not turn at all. Also it was already late to call anyone so online I went to Sear web site. Looking and comparing to replace the GAS DRYER we have. On my way to work I called some places and I would have to drive about an hour one way to pick it up. So I decided to call the Hometown Store in Franklin, Louisiana. They so happened to have what I was looking for and a good price as I alway like sale prices. Hooked it up and dryes great. All the features work and quiter than the one I replaced it with.

We purchased this model to replace a similar Kenmore that we'd had for about 20 years. The first thing we noticed is that, like another reviewer, there was a noticeable "thump" on nearly every turn of the drum. We called Sears and talked with a customer support technician who said it might be a roller that was out of round and that running it for a week or two might correct the problem. We ran it for three weeks and the problem never went away. We are now awaiting delivery of a slightly pricier Maytag unit to exchange for this one. However, other than the thumping sound, the dryer has done a good job on the drying side. We were able to see an improvement over our old dryer...clothes are fluffier, etc. However, it seems that with another user making the same comment about the thump, that there may be a design flaw in the drum suspension system.

This machine is obviously defective. The auto moisture sensing does not work and defeats the energy savings concept. I called a Sears repairman after 3 weeks and he told me that I needed to use the timer. Customer Service exchanged the dryer but after 1 week, this dryer is doing the same thing. Nothing dries on the auto moisture sensing program unless you put in on Extra Dry. I do not recommend this product....

We were very disappointed in the dryer for the following reasons. It is VERY loud, which we were willing to live with, and it never seemed to completely dry the load when on auto. We always had to do and additional 20 minute timed dry. What was the straw that broke the camels back and prompted us to return the machine was when it took 5 hrs on auto, to dry one load. On a positive note SEARS was fantastic to deal with no hassle return. Because of the no hassle we ended up purchasing a GE from them and it makes about 1/10 the noise and does a fantastic job drying the clothes....

Drier has very annoying, loud hum which trumps any positives. Side by side with our old drier, the sound really stands out compared against the low rumble of the old one. I will definitely return it for a quieter unit....

Purchased this dryer and matching 600 series washer. Really like the Auto Moisture Sensing feature. Just throw a load of clothes in and hit start. The dryer will buzz once the clothes are dry and keep tumbling to prevent wrinkles. No more guessing for drying time or checking every 15 minutes to see if the clothes are dry. Also like that the end of cycle buzzer can be shut off. Handy feature when there is a sleeping baby in the house. Would give 5 stars, but the drum seems to be slightly out of round which results barely perceptible thumping noise. Nothing that would cause me to return it, or give it a bad review, just something that I noticed....
