I purchased this grill a few weeks ago to replace an old one whose burners had rusted out and was more expensive to fix than replace. I've only used it once so far, but feel I can accurately review it.
Assembly
I agree with many of the other reviewers that some parts were difficult to assemble. The...

1. I agree with others regarding the assembly issues. Obviously, the designers did not attempt to assemble their product after a first manufacture run to see what problems may have existed.
2. An issue for the serious cooker is the thermometer. The rate of rise is extremely slow & almost non-existent....

THIS GRILL IS A TOP OF THE LINE GRILL WITHOUT THE TOP OF THE LINE PRICE. IT IS A VERY WELL MADE GRILL. I HAVE PURCHASED CHEAPER GRILLS AND GOT WHAT I PAID FOR. THEY NEVER LASTED. I LIKE THE CHIC DESIGN OF THIS GRILL AND THE FACT THAT IT COOKS EVENLY AND YOU GET A SIDE BURNER FOR THE PRICE OF THIS GRILL. MY HUSBANDS NIECE HAD PURCHASED THIS GRILL BEFORE US. WE BORROWED IT FOR MY DAUGHTERS SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY PARTY. WE HAD OVER A HUNDRED GUEST AND WE WERE ABLE TO COOK OVER THIRTY HAMBURGERS AT A TIME THIS MADE OUR LIVES A LOT EASIER. IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN US FOREVER TO COOK THAT MANY HAMBURGERS ON OUR...read full review »
I have only used this grill twice so, my review will be short.
Pros: good price for the amount of grill that you get. Very stylish design and the features are more than ample.
Cons: assembly was a little rough. I had to leave a few screws out of the process due to holes not matching up properly. Also, the door is not aligned properly. This maybe due to prior steps not being done properly however so, I account for this to be a minor problem.
Overall, a great, attractive grill. This is my first grill so I decided to shop around a little and when I noticed that the price was discounted by 50.00, I...read full review »
This Grill was definitely Worth the Money! Looks Great and Cooks amazingly. Looks just like the More expensive Kenmore's But is a Very Fair Price. Love it, Just make sure to read the directions, Because if your one of those guys who starts before taking a look, you will waste time, and have to redo things. Give yourself an hour to 2 hours to assemble.
We bought this grill last fall. We were told it would take 30-45 minutes to put it together. My husband is pretty handy, but it took a lot longer than that. Once we had it together, it took forever to cook dinner -- like we weren't getting enough gas. Since then, its performance has been okay but not great -- we just try to start dinner earlier.
We bought it on sale for a great price & love it! Very easy to use, lots of area space for food, easy clean up. That being said, it was a nightmare to mount the shelf & side burner. The screws are too short & there a no caps on the legs, so they fall in. Cover the holes with tape before doing this as it is not fun tipping this thing to get the screws & washers out!
I bought my grill about 2 weeks ago. I read the reviews about the difficulty in assembly, so I let sears do that for me. It took them twice as long as they originally told me it would take to assemble. They told me two days and I picked it up on the fifth day. This must have been a beast to take 5 days to put together. As far as the performance, I couldn't be happier. This grills very even and gets hot very fast.
So far, so good
I read some of the older reviews before putting mine together. The screws were just fine until you try to install the side shelf and the left side burner. First of all the screws were 1/4" too short, I would recommend you put tape FIRST over the open tops of the rectangular vertical uprights that swallow the short screws up when you drop them in. A magnetic tip screwdriver would have been a help also.
Finally I gave up grabbed a cold three or four, then the next evening tried it with longer screws.
The grill main door was racked badly so I had to twist it so that it would close properly. Maybe...read full review »
I just purchased this grill last night. I bought it assembled at my local store on sale and drove it home and started grilling. Compared to my previous grill this is a tremendous improvement. Very solid construction and the cooking was very even. There was sticking on the new grates but that was expected. I didn't really want the side burner but this grill was not available without it. I will probably add a rotisserie.
We bought this grill at the end of the season as a floor model for $170 plus taxes, which was an EXTREMELY good value. We specifically waited until just before the new grills were coming out so we would get such a deal. In any case, we found exactly what we were looking for: stainless steel, good construction, side burner, and an even heating area with nice grates and multiple burners for optimal control (not to mention the door that makes the grill look pretty and the easy access grease pan for cleaning). The biggest problem was getting the grill into our Focus. We actually disassembled the grill...read full review »
After a bunch of research and looking around, I settled on this grill mainly for the long warranty burners, the evenness of the heat across the grilling surface, and the nice heavy grates. I am particularly satisfied with these features, at a reasonable price (on sale at $50 off regular price). I would have preferred to be able to save a few bucks on an identical model without a side burner (will probably never use it), but no such thing is offered.
When I got my grill home, I found it had severe shipping damage, with parts of the base all bent up and even ripped apart in one spot. It looked...read full review »
Pros: Attractive and very happy with the grill now that I'm using it
Cons: Sloppy build makes assembly frustrating. Dented door; flimsy frame was slightly bent
Picked up in box and the cabinet door was dented. Like many others have noted, the holes lined up so poorly I sometimes had to force the sheetmetal into alignment - the worst being the holes for the side burner and side tray. Knobs are cheap plastic with silver paint that will likely fleck off. When finished, it doesn't feel as sturdy as I'd hoped.
Now that we've used it we are pleased with it's performance. Four burners from front to back...read full review »
My wife and I just brought a new house so I wanted to treat myself to a welcome gift. I looked around at different makes and models for about 2 months only to find myself looking at a Weber Spirit. I was just waiting for the right moment to buy it until one day I was looking at Sears. I saw this big beauty grill and fell in love with it. Went home and did some comparing and it blew away the Weber Spirit that I was going to get. This beast is 300 series stainless steel(the best),48000btu. I have used it about 10 times and it cooks wonderful. I would recommend this grill to anybody that is looking...read full review »
Made the decision to purchase this model instead of a high priced (small) W~r grill. Glad too. Just grilled up two monster rib-eyes and they had to be the best steak I've had in ages. Since I've seen so many reviews here, mostly good, I had to write and say how pleased we are with this grill so far. And wanted to share the fact that the heavy-porcelain coated cast iron grates flip over so you can grill fish safely. Pretty cool feature ey? Anyway, the only question I would have is: Anybody have suggestions on cleaning? Seems a bit tough to clean the grates real well. Don't want to ruin the coating....read full review »
My grill was a birthday gift from a daughter and she had it assembled at the store. When we got it home and unwrapped we loved the looks of it. We found the door warped but that was easy to fix with a twist at the top and bottom. For the first use we brushed oil on the cast iron cooking grates and had some great burgers. They didn't stick or fall through due to the excellent design.
When I cleaned the grill after the burgers I found that a heat diffuser was missing. I don't know why I failed to notice that when I cleaned the grates before cooking.
I called the 800 number on the front of the manual...read full review »
