Kenmore 8.8 cu. ft. Chest Freezer (1692) —

My retirement gift to myself - I did a lot of research on freezers and learned that Kenmore is rated #2 in Consumer Reports. That was good enough for me - I bought it online the day after Thanksgiving, got a great deal and was able to choose the delivery day (12-15-08). Since then I have saved so much money that I figure the freezer will pay for itself in less than a year. VERY roomy - 2 baskets and a light which is invaluable. I had what I call an "apartment size" freezer - about the size of a dishwasher and it just wasn't big enough. It still ran fine - I just needed more room so between the new freezer, the old freezer and the freezer in the fridge, I'm all set. Have to admit, the new freezer is the favorite :)
