Kenmore 8.8 cu. ft. Chest Freezer (1692) Reviews

We owned a 5.0 cubic ft Kenmore chest freezer before we bought our 9.0 cubit ft one and we loved it. Just got too small for us. Love our new one because it has a light inside of it and I love how it locks for when we finally have children, they don't go inside and start pulling stuff out. I would recommend this product to anyone! We also got an amazing deal on this freezer because it had a few dings on it, but the outside does not freeze my food. I recommend looking around the store first and seeing what they have on clearance/sale.

It has only been a few weeks since the day I loaded this guy into the back of my Mazda 6 but it's been good so far!  We didn't want one of those enormous ones but wanted it large enough so we don't always have to wonder if there will be room for whatever we want to buy.  This is perfect for that.  

Fits into the slot in our basement storage room perfectly, keeps things cold like it is supposed to and has already allowed us to save a good chunk of cash when items go on sale.  Can't speak to the longevity of the unit at this point but so far so good!

THE FIRST TIME I SAT ON TOP OF THIS FREEZER THE TOP BENT ALL UP. THIS THING IS NOT VERY STRONG....... WISH I WOULD OF BOUGHT A BETTER ONE.

I shopped around and looked at almost all chest freezers on the market.  I am 5'2 and I wanted a freezer that I can reach all the way to the bottom.  This is the perfect size freezer for a small to medium-sized family.  I like the convenient trays.  I haven't had to defrost it yet.  I store seafood, meat, frozen pizzas, vegetables, and ice cream.  I have not had any issues with smells or frost bite on the food.  This can fit easily in small spaces.  It is also quiet.

After doing much research, I finally decided on this freezer.  It was highly rated in a leading consumer magazine and I can see why.  It is really quiet, works great and has a lot of space for what I need.  It is only my husband and I so we don't need anything too big, but I am looking forward to putting a few turkeys in it when they go on sale this year.  We also like to put bread and cartons of ice cream in the handy baskets.  We put so much in this and still have not filled it yet.  This has been a great purchase.  I highly recommend it!

This very simple unit works extremely well.  Just pull it out of the box, plug it in and it's freezer cold in an hour or so.  Works efficiently and quietly even with high outside temperatures.  If you have big freezer needs and have the space, this is a far superior alternative to cramming the freezer compartment of your refrigerator and overtaxing that machine.  We love it.

My Kenmore 8.8 Cu.Ft. Chest Freezer is perfect for my needs. I have a small family (3) and this size is perfect for me to store extra items I find on sale but not too large for the space I have available.  I like the two baskets as they afford me ample room to sort my items for ease of retrieval.  The chest is not too deep so that I can easily reach items on the bottom of the unit also.  It runs quietly and is an excellent value for the price.

We have had the freezer almost two weeks now.  It replaced a larger freezer that quit working.  I was surprised at the size.  I expected something smaller, so it was great.  It has 2 baskets inside, which I like.  They are smaller than our other freezer, so they don't hold as much, but for the price and size, it is adequate. It seems to be quiet, and so far works great. Even though it is not an "energy saver", I read another review that stated it is as good & better than some.

The plastic "key" is like a 1/2" piece of a hard plastic straw.  It is a joke, but we don't lock the freezer anyway,...

I love how little space this freezer takes up. I do not store too much meat like some of my friends who go hunting and come back with tons of meat. So I was looking for a freezer that does not occupy too much space and consumes little energy. I was lucky that my friend bought this last year and was able to look at it and get a first hand opinion from him before I bought mine. I love the baskets inside and how much space it has. I have stored my fish filets that I bought last year from a cooking school and plan to smoke them next week. Also the freezer is quiet and I cannot hear it at all. I...

This freezer is great, I have had no problems with it except for when my husband was moving it and dented the side.  And it still works as good as new.  I put it upstairs (cuz I'm too lazy to go downstairs to get stuff out of it) and it is sitting on carpet, I was nervous at first because if it was to leak it would ruin the carpet and could make the floor soft and fall through or something but it hasn't had any troubles. I would get another one in a heartbeat and still may actually.

Very quiet. Lots of space inside. The 2 baskets are great!!!! I can buy bulk meat now!!!!!
