After 15 years of service, our LADY KENMORE finally needed a replacement. After much research, I decided on this Kenmore Model. I have had it almost 2 months and am still amazed by how quiet it is, how much space it has inside and how clean my dishes are. With 2 toddlers and a spouse that loves to cook,...

I have owned this dishwasher for about a year and a half. The smart wash button stopped functioning right after the warranty expired. Now some of the other buttons are not working properly. I really did enjoy the dishwasher when it worked well. I would highly recommend getting the extended warranty on...

My 11 yr. old dishwasher started leaking a ton of water on Xmas Day '08 & by late Sunday afternoon we realized we needed to replace it. We found this model online & the site said it was available for "next day delivery" but no one believed it could really be true!?? We had had a Kenmore & liked it so we ordered this one.
It came the NEXT DAY-early afternoon!!!!! just as had been promised & we even deferred the interest for a yr. on the purchase.
I love my new dishwasher....it holds SO much more than my previous ones, keeps my favorite settings, does a great job of cleaning! The door has a little...read full review »
I purchased this dishwasher a year and a half ago when all of a sudden our kitchen sounded like you were on an airplane. Then a couple weeks later, one of the control buttons (smart wash) failed, which means i am unable to use one of its main features in being energy efficient. The warranty is for only one year so Sears said they can't help. I hired a third party appliance repair company and they said the motor would have to be replaced in order to resolve the loud engine noise and the electronic board would have to be replaced for the "smart wash" feature to work. It would cost $500 to repair!!!!...read full review »
I purchased the unit in Nov.'06 and it worked great for about 1 year. It cleaned everything we put in it very well. Then the pump and motor assembly broke. I had it replaced under warranty which is good because the part was $300 plus labor. Now it's 10 months later and the pump and motor are shot again. It's not worth fixing it. If you plan on buying a Kenmore buy the extended warranty plan or just buy a Bosch.
I purchased the dishwasher b/c Kenmore was the only company who made a stainless refrigerator is the size I needed and I wanted the other appliances to match. Overall, I am not impressed (and I have used numerous other brands of dishwashers) and, taken with the issues I have with my other Kenmore appliances, I would highly recommend against purchasing any Kenmore appliance.
All of the wash cycles are SLOW This dishwasher can take up to and over 2 hours even on a smart wash, and takes unusually longer than any other dishwasher I have used. Even with the heat-dry cycle, my dishes still come out wet....read full review »
I read the other reviews of this dishawasher before buying it, but bought it anyway. At first, no problem--the dishwasher got dishes clean and was relatively quiet. Just 5 months after buying it though, it made a roaring noise when it was turned on--the motor had gone out after only 5 months! The Sears guy came and fixed the dishwasher and it is working well again, but I'm worried about what will happen in another 5 months. My advice at this point--spring for the extra $100 or so and buy the d/w that Consumer Reports voted as a best buy.
We wanted a washer that could do a good job heating its own water as we keep our electric water heater set low for energy conservation purposes. We got just what we wanted. We like the Automatic Wash, Sani-Rinse cycles and the ability to air dry (without electric heat). This washer has great features and ease of use. Only negatives from this experience are: The annunciation of what cycle is occurring could be better. Most cycles take too long. The delivery date kept getting kicked around as if no one was hearing me or they weren't talking to each other. In the end however, if the whole object of...read full review »
We bought our dishwasher a year ago. We were immediately impressed by its effeciency and quality of cleaning. After one year its still performing well. The only drawback we saw was the calcium deposit on the heating coil at the bottom.
Buyer beware of this model and the rating. We purchased the first one in July 07 and it came with a defective control panel. The second one was installed and after five months the door latch broke. This washer is used twice a week by two adults. It lacks quality control and is overly rated. Getting the repair department is also a joke. They will make an appointment between 8 am and 5 pm and expect someone to be at home when they decide to call. What a joke and a disappointing after sales service. We have been promised to have this one replaced, so lets see when that happens. Washing dishes by hand...read full review »
I bought this dishwasher in April 07. I wanted to wait on my review until I had it for a while. I bought this appliance based mostly on reviews from others. This is an excellent D/W for the price. I started to load and unload the D/W just so i would see how it performed. Now I have taken over this duty.
I've had this dishwasher for less than a year - run it about once a week. It broke already. None of the buttons work on the front panel. It's unfortunate because it washed dishes really well too. I need to call Sears today to see if it can be fixed so the jury is still out. But in terms of durability, so far it's not up to snuff.
Bought this April 18 2008 to replace a very old Maytag. I was in the market for another Maytag because the old one lasted so long. After reading all the reviews on this one ( and the Maytag I wanted @ Sears was no longer avail., anyway) I got this one. The hardest part about installation was removal of the old one! I just love all the features, especially the clips to hold on plastic lids on the upper rack. In fact, I wish there were more of them. Plasticware ( tupperware) comes out 99% dry, all except the little crevices on the rims, which I expected. Even the inside of plastic cups are completely...read full review »
This is my first new dishwasher since 1989 and I am so impressed. It is very quiet and cleans the dishes wonderfully - almost too good :) I use the light wash 90% of the time and my dishes sparkle; and,I don't rinse my dishes either, just scrape. I love the extra large silverware baskets. The panel on the front is very user friendly. I can't say enough good things about this dishwasher, and I feel the price was fair. My only learning curve with it has been figuring out how to best load it for my dishes. I'm so glad I purchased a Sears Kenmore.
My wife and I purchased this product 4 years ago for our new home. The motor and pump has broken on twice. We've replaced those items instead of buying another unit.
In retrospect, we should have just bought another brand and a completely new unit.
So dissapointed in Kenmore. The pump broke on Sunday, now we have no dishwasher for the holidays unless I rush a part at the cost of $200 to have it fixed.
Merry Christmas Kenmore.
