I own several Janome and Babylock machines, including the Janome MC11000, and love them all. But I needed to find an inexpensive, light weight machine to take to classes. The Janome models were very over-priced, so I began my online research. I found that Janome makes the Kenmore 19233, so I went to our local store to take a look. It is a beautiful little machine that is multifunctional and is portable enough to haul around! I bought it, brought it home and it is perfect! I spent less than half of what I would have spent on a Janome machine, and it is every bit as good, if not better! If...

I have been sewing for 30+ years and I am a "Devoted Kenmore Sewing Machine Fan" (So was my Mom & Grandmother. ) Over the years I have used a lot of different makes of Kenmore sewing machines and I can tell you for sure that "This is the Best Machine Kenmore has made to date." The price is fantastic also. I do alterations and it has everything I need. I also do quilting and again it has everything. I even taught my 8 year old Granddaughter how to sew on it. I gave her my old Kenmore but she would rather use mine....

For my first sewing machine I wanted to make sure I was investing in a good quality machine, that will last me a long time, and was versatile. I planned to sew many different projects so I wanted to make sure I got a machine that did well on ALL types of fabrics and was pretty simple to use. After reading all the positive reviews for this machine I finally purchased it at the beginning of this year.
This is a WONDERFUL machine; it comes with a large variety...
read full review »With kids I need a machine that is very multifunctional. I have had this machine 2 weeks, and so far it has sewn through denim, linen, tafita, polar fleece, flannel, ribbon, and some very delicate fabrics. So far it has worked like a dream something most machines can't do on all types of material. I love the multi-speed and the decorative stitches are fun but would like a little more variety. My biggest and pretty much only complaint is the manual it is very vague and the "every other page" a different language makes for a lot of flipping back and forth. I would prefer something that...

Previously owned a Singer, now am very happy with my Kenmore 19233 model. would like to be able to see in more detail what it is capable of doing. It states there are over 45 quilting stitch functions, but being new to the quilting world, I do not know which ones they are. I'm going to try sew a few on sample fabric to see how they would look as quilting once I am ready to sew the three layers together.
I really like the versatility of this machine and think it is great for all levels of seamtresses!
I've had this machine for about 2 years & love it! I use it to mostly to make baby blankets; sews through 2 layers of flannel easily; a little groaning when I come to seams with 4 layers of flannel but is able to power through them. Decided to make bags last Chrismas instead of using wrapping paper for presents & people loved the idea. Through these projects, have used various stitches. I repleaced a basic Bernina with this; mother had Kenmore & used a friends Kenmore before considering this one. Which I had just bougt this in the first place.
I love the fact that I don't HAVE to adjust...
read full review »I asked my husband for a sewing machine for the holidays, it was on sale several years ago and I got it for around $350. As far as I knew at the time, it was manufactured by Janome which was why I bought it, and the box marketed it towards quilters, which is great for normal sewing because good quilting machine can sew through layers, and have some fancy stitches, all of which come in handy with sewing pretty much anything. It's a really wonderful machine. It took me a while to get good at threading it and now I consider myself a pro! The monograming on it is a fairly useless feature, atleast for...
