tastes great less filling

I have had my water filter for about 3 years and never had a problem. The water tastes good, in my opinion better than many bottled waters. My main complaint is the sears stores around me don't carry the filters, or replacement for the water diverter that fits the spigot. I am buying a new one today... read full review »

Filters Water ~ Poor Quality Construction

The unit does filter the water and at that it does a good job. The replacement cartridges are reasonably priced and have a reasonable life. The water spigot could be a little taller. The diverter valve was made from plastic and started leaking after a year, and became unusable shortly thereafter. Was... read full review »

did not hold up

I had a countertop water filter that lasted me a long time. A year ago I had to buy a new one. The parts on the new one were plactic compared to the one with metal parts . The plastic did not hold up so I now have to buy another filter. As far as making the water better yes it dose. But if we have to buy a new one each year that gets costly.

Water filter

Has worked well beyond expectations. Mainly used to remove odor from the local water, better than many other filters.

ugly, awkward

Great water filter yet looks lousy especially with the hose running to the faucet. Gets in the way of sink. An option to hook it up to the water line would be better.

works well

The first one lasted over 7 years. The water tastes so much better and the filters last a long time. This is a very nice unit. Highly recommended.

Too bad the divertors last less than a year.  I have 3 units with broken divertors, they want $50 for the part. I paid about that for the complete unit. Any ideas where to get a deal on the divertor?

The filtering works well. Eventually, the diverter starts to leak, and you cannot fix it. Sears sells the replacement for $40. We have already replaced two countertop units (which cost about $50). I can't even find the filter on line anymore, and we're not going to pay $40 just for a diverter. This is a shame.

amazing water filter

I live in LA, where the water is terrible. It stinks of chlorine, and tastes even worse. This water filter has totally removed the bad odor and taste from my water. No more buying water bottles. I now use this for my esspresso machine, and my humidifier. Buy this product, you won't regret it!

Pressure loss due to air in line or something.

I have had my filtering system for about 2 weeks and it filters really well, no chlorine smell i can detect. The problem i have is that the presssure of the system has decreased by half and the filter life was rated for 6 months or 4500 gallons. I like water but i did not go thru 4500 gallons in two weeks unless i got a really bad leak. It might need a backwash feature if its clogged but i just do not get it. Anyone else with this problem or assumed problem?

Better tasting water

Improved the taste of my water 100%. Saves me money, was buying 2 gal of bottled water a week to make coffee. Got a great rating from Consumer Reports which is why I purchaced this product. You can't go wrong for the price.

This filter comes equiped now with a flimsy plastic diverter valve. The original cost of the filter, and the replacement filter cartriges seems resonable enough, however, when the diverter valve falls apart be prepared to purchase a whole new unit as Sears has chosen not to sell the valves alone. Thats ashame really, for a non R.O. type filter, this one works great, it just costs too much to buy a complete new filter every time the valve falls apart.
