I just get it yesterday on a clearance rack in Sears (just $45, retail price is $199) Nice espresso maker, it makes very good espresso shots, but the pump make a very annoying noise "(... i like the fact of the 5 years warranty of kenmore and that is very easy to use..

I went through three of these Kenmore expresso makers within 10 days. I had to return all of them. The stainless steel part of the machine is great, and the coffee tastes very good.  However, the water deposit in the back and its plastic parts are so poorly made that they come already broken!! ...

Good Espresso

its not the best espresso maker, it does make a noise that would wake up people if one is making espresso @ 4am, But for a home use its a great starting espresso maker. I had it for about two months, only use filter water, and have a special coffee grinder that grinds the coffee bean to a fine powder. Ones a week ill run the machine w/out coffee just to clean out the filter.

After 6-months the "stainless steel" drip tray started peeling. A thin sheet of shiny metal peeled back, exposing a more base metal (probably aluminum) underneath. The aluminum then started corroding much like an old battery. The peeling metal was very thin and very sharp. After getting cut a few times I finally gave up and removed the metal and only use the center plastic part of the drip tray. I contacted Sears. They say there are no parts for this machine. So much for "We Service What We Sell".

Sounds

I just bought the espresso machine last week but I,m very disappointed with the laud sound (noise) it produces when I press the power button, and when it is in operation. In addition, it seems to me that the coffee is no so strong. I don't believe that the sound is normal but the "Use and Care Guide" says nothing about sounds or noises. I will appreciate any information about this issue.

Bought it for my wife for Valentines day.  Shopped around- everywhere...  ********, ******, ********, Bed,Bath, and Beyond, and finally Sears.  It was a no brainer- Kenmore, well what a great name.  Sold.  One month and 7 days later I am making hot cocoa as it is 11pm, and I don't need coffee, and WHAMMY!  The wand flies off of the machine like a rocketship taking off to the moon!  Into my mug of milk, and the surroundings painted white.  Now I have to take it back to Sears and I dont know what I will do- it is a very nice machine, and the other brands have a hard time holding a candle...

Good Starting Machine

This is my second machine, but my first "real" pump machine. I had a little trouble at first when I tried using a POD. The pressure blew out the seal around the Portafilter. I returned it for another that has been working fine (the pump is also a little quieter on this one). I'm still trying to get a consistent good pour (25-30 second shot), but It does do a nice job when I get the grind and tamp right. It seems like the default instructions lead to a quick pour and thin shot from what I have read and experienced. It could have something to do with the "perfect crema" basket, but that seems to... read full review »

Good machine for the price

It's been a long time since I've owned an espresso machine, and this is the first pump driven machine I've used. I reviewed many machines, specifications, features and prices extensively before purchasing this machine. I've only owned and used the machine for two weeks now, however I've had no problems and am thoroughly enjoying homemade Americanos, Cappuccinos, Lattes and affogatos. The machine pulls great shots with a lovely crema, and the frothing wand works well. Ups: A powerful, 1250 watt power supply (important for heating water -- most machines in this price range are between 800 and 1000... read full review »

Stops working

I'm very surprised to see the other reviews that are so positive, as I've had such trouble with this machine. It is not my first espresso maker, but it is my worst. When new it worked fine, and made very good coffee and frothed milk, but after about a month the coffee started to just dribble out taking about 3 minutes to make a double. The first time I removed the handle after this, hot coffee grounds and coffee burst out of the machine and sprayed about 1.5 ft. on me and the counter. The porta filter is the problem. It gets clogged VERY easily and VERY often, then the pressure just builds in the... read full review »

Great little machine!

Have had and loved this machine for about 6 months. No problems yet, but if there were I would just use the 5 year warrenty that came with it :) I agree with the previous poster that I wish it came with little cups/shot glasses and a frothing pitcher, but for the price you can add those on your own and still come out ahead :) Plus, when little extras are included like that, they tend to be cheap and this way you can select the ones you'd really rather have.

Kenmore Elite Espresso Machine

We got this as a gift and love it - it has created an absolutely perfect shot of espresso every time, perfect crema and taste. (We use Starbucks Ground Espresso if anyone is curious...) The wand steamer does an excellant - excellant - job of steaming the milk and creates frothy foam that lasts and lasts - just like a professional cup. Really delicous :) To be honest we don't really use the cup warmer on top (It uses latent heat from the machine being on, does not require being turned on itself) but it makes a very attractive rack for those little white ceramic cups. It is easy to use, easy to... read full review »

I got this expresso machine as a Christmas gift from my husband, after buying about 4 other brands and having them returned to the store, we decided to give this one a try. It is true it makes a one time "weird noide" when you start the machine, but to use it at home, who cares? The machine does the best expresso coffee ever ,compare to heavy duty commercial equipments costing thousands of dollars. I am Cuban, a heavy expresso consumer, and the secret to this machine is ONE: Listen carefully: USE ONLY "Expresso Coffe Gourmet" there are a few brands in the market such as Bustelo, navarro etc, but... read full review »
