its not the best espresso maker, it does make a noise that would wake up people if one is making espresso @ 4am, But for a home use its a great starting espresso maker. I had it for about two months, only use filter water, and have a special coffee grinder that grinds the coffee bean to a fine powder. Ones a week ill run the machine w/out coffee just to clean out the filter.
After 6-months the "stainless steel" drip tray started peeling. A thin sheet of shiny metal peeled back, exposing a more base metal (probably aluminum) underneath. The aluminum then started corroding much like an old battery. The peeling metal was very thin and very sharp. After getting cut a few times I finally gave up and removed the metal and only use the center plastic part of the drip tray. I contacted Sears. They say there are no parts for this machine. So much for "We Service What We Sell".
Bought it for my wife for Valentines day. Shopped around- everywhere... ********, ******, ********, Bed,Bath, and Beyond, and finally Sears. It was a no brainer- Kenmore, well what a great name. Sold. One month and 7 days later I am making hot cocoa as it is 11pm, and I don't need coffee, and WHAMMY! The wand flies off of the machine like a rocketship taking off to the moon! Into my mug of milk, and the surroundings painted white. Now I have to take it back to Sears and I dont know what I will do- it is a very nice machine, and the other brands have a hard time holding a candle...
