This is so much more than a microwave! It is so versatile. I have been 100% pleased with the look; the construction and the functions. It takes a microwave to a whole new level. The best thing is the non-stick interior...clean-up is a simple wipe!
When we purchased this microwave we could not decide between this microwave and the Advantium. We chose the Kenmore Elite because the touch pad looked easier for the kids to use. We loved it at first then the handle broke, which was impossible to replace, and then the oven itself stopped working, Because we loved it when it worked we foolishly bought another one, thinking the first one we had was an isolated problem. Well of couse after about 2 years the same thing. The handle broke and then the oven just stopped working. I had also recommended the oven to my mother and her handle also broke, though...

Spent alot of money on this microwave and although it microwaves, the construction is terrible. We have replaced the vent grill at the top of the microwave and the plastic on the door has cracked and the door handle just broke (the all plastic is not very durable) and we take great care of our appliances. This microwave is only 2 years old at best and is falling apart.
We purchased this item in Dec 2006 and have had at least 5 warranty related service calls ..3 times for the same thing (control panel burns out when the convection option is used). After calling the 4th time for the same problem I told them they need to replace it which Sears did with the same model (this was in July 2008).
Well tonight my replacement microwave has done the same thing (replacement was made in 10/07 so I am not sure problem was corrected in the one we got. Will be reearching models and insisting on a different one this time....
This was installed in my new kitchen in April 2006, in June 2006 under warranty the entire oven was replaced by Sears. 9 months later the control panel was replaced under warranty.
Now the oven will not operate again and the repair would cost more than purchasing a new oven.
I Will Never purchase a Kenmore appliance again after being a devoted customer for 32 years.
Other appliances that I purchased at the same time as this oven are the same Average to Poor.
That is all it took for me to open the microwave today and the top grill vent to come loose. The plastic that hold it together just split. The light no longer works. Would not reccomend!
We had problems with the heat bulb burning out and it can't be replaced without disassembly. Sear took care of that under warranty. The touch screen (left side) stopped working all of the time just after the warranty expired and we couldn't get someone to fix it free even though we had documented issues. Now after a couple of years, the touch screen totally stopped working. We are going to by a normal microwave, not "Elite" or Kenmore.
I absolutely love this microwave! It works AWESOME! I have 6 children and all of the older ones think it very easy to use! It cooks perfectly and I have never had any problems with it! I have owned many microwaves and I have never loved any of them! This one is the best I have always bought Kenmore products, and I always will!!!
We bought this around 4 years ago, love it. Now that we are moving. We are bring it with us. We have never had an issue with this product, in four years of use. It is soooo worth the money. It also retains its value. All of our friends admire it and we tell them where to find it.
THE MICROWAVE LCD TOUCH PAD BEGAN TO FAIL WHEN THE OVEN WAS A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. IT IS A STRUGGLE TO FIND THE SPOT ON ANY KEY WHICH FUNCTIONS. THIS MAKES USING THE OVEN FRUSTRATING. REPAIRING IT SEEMS TO BE COST INEFFECTIVE.
This is one of the best microwaves I have used. It's fast and quite. This has more bells and whistles then my microwave and convection oven put together.
This is absolutely the best microwave ever invented. It has so many features that I really don't even need my stove anymore. The grill feature is the best. I was a little intimidated by it at first, but once I read the book and learned how to let the microwave help me, it has been a snap. Not only is everything delicious in it, there is no guess work. It has a "prepare" mode that tells you exactly how to prepare and cook your meals. It is the BEST!!!! My kids and husband also love it!! Great job Sears
It is quick, easy to use and has a nice appearance.
I would not recommend this product to a friend because it is small and cooks food with poor results.
