I like the look and space that this full size fridge offers, but we have had problems with it keeping items cool. Finally, we had a service person change the threshold for the temperature gauge and now it doesn't get too warm....

Love. This. Fridge. Seriously.

My husband bought me this fridge for an anniversary gift 6.5 years ago and it really makes me happy. Because it has no freezer, it is super energy efficient. We are vegetarians and cook lots of fresh foods so the fact that our freezer is out in the laundry room (chest freezer) does not cramp our style one bit.

I like how this fridge looks and it has never broken down. Other than that, what's there to say? It refrigerates.

The freezerless refrigerator is not significantly larger than most conventional refrigerator-freezer units, but this unit is definitely more convenient and easier to use. Standing side by side with the matching freezer provides much better storage and a much more usable arrangement.

I bought this fridge and matching freezer in October 2005 and initially loved the units. I must have bought one of the first sets ever sold because I had all kinds of Sears executives at my home the day of delivery. We had to have a warranty repair performed in 2007 because of a design flaw which caused parts to vibrate and rub a hole in the coolant tubing.

Now, today, the unit is acting up again, out of warranty and I have been told the repairs may cost more than a new unit, neither of which I can afford at the moment. Had I known then what I know now, I would have never bought them. The freezer has not given me a moment's problem and I am disappointed with the reliability of the fridge unit.

We've had the set for at least three years and are delighted. Both refrigerator and freezer work quietly and well. We extensively renovated our kitchen and den and get more compliments on the refrigerator/freezer than anything else!...

Bought the set just a few days ago. Installed them with the trim kit and it looks great. Refridgerator does not get cold enough and the freezer gets frost on the inside from the door not sealing up good. Called for repair and it will take 2 weeks for someone to come look at it. Looks is the only thing going for these units. Would not buy again and will probally have to take back to the store if they don't get it fixed the first time.

Refridgerator is less than a year old and cannot get below 45-50 degrees and seems to run constantly. Often the temperature inside reads 60 plus degrees. Electric bill has also gone up without question. Sometimes I open it and actually feel it blowing in warm air. Very often everything is covered with condensation. Foods in general, especially milk and meats go bad very quickly. Other than that its really great. I cannot wait to go to Sears and get another one.

We had a refrigerator only before and wanted to replace it with a more effiicent unit. I wish I would have kept the old one. Exactly 1 month after the warantee expired, it crapped out.

75 bucks for Sears to show up, and the estimate to fix it was between 400 and 500 dollars.

I can buy an new one for 950 bucks.

I will not buy another one from Sears......The refrigerator cost me 100 bucks a month... not a good value.i

I have owned the fridge and freezer combo for 5 years. It looks great in my remodled kitchen! The fridge is a disaster! I had the fridge for just 2 years when the problems started. It started not to keep things cold. I had service come out and it took them 3 times of scratching their heads to figure out what was wrong. They fixed it, only temporarily, it seems. The same issue is happening again (not keeping things cold) and the added bonus of leaking water inside of the box. I was a loyal Sears customer, but come on Sears, stand behind your product and stand behind your customers and admit you made a crappy fridge. You have a lot of unhappy customers that purchased this fridge. This tells me that you have no compassion for your customers. Where was your Quality Control on this one? Were they snoozing? Look, I purchased a lot of things from Sears in the past ~ love the Craftsman stuff, and I love the freezer, but this fridge is inexcusable. Come on guys, make some of your customers happy!...

Bought this refrigerator in March 2011. It replaced a dinosaur refrigerator. The main problem is that it is very noisy...much noisier than the 20 yr old refrigerator. We could hear it all the way in our bedroom. Exchanged it.

We bought both the freezer and refrigerator and installed them with the trim kit and they look fantastic, have plenty of space, and were a lot cheaper than other built ins, but now I kind of regret not spending 5x more and getting a higher quality setup. Both units are VERY noisy. The compressors make a rattly noise when they run. The doors do not close very well, especially the freezer, so the inside gets very icy. Our old refrigerator had an alarm that would beep when the door was left slightly open, a feature I will definitely look for next time because we have kids. There is no water dispenser and no water filter on the ice maker. This setup gets a 5 on looks, but a 1 on everything else. I guess for the price we paid I should not have high expectations, but anticipate replacing them with a higher quality pair when they break.

Ours are beautiful, quiet, and we've had no service calls. Owned them for about 2 years now and we get so many compliments on how they look. But the best part is the counter depth and short height make everything easy to see and you don't have to reach far to get them. I'm going to purchase a second set for our new house, and leave these behind as we rent out our house. for the money, they are the best value on the market.

We bought this refrigerator along with the freezer about 4 1/2 years ago. I'm really glad we got a Maintenace Agreement with it. The freezer has been just fine, no problems or maintenance needed. The refrigerator has been a disaster. After just over a year it started to run loudly and constantly. I would not stay cold. This problem continually reoccurs. It's been recharged numerous times, several thermostats, replaced coil and all other elements involving cooling and evaporation. They say there is a small leak somewhere that can't be found. Sears has finely decided to replace it. In the long run it will probably be cheaper than sending out someone to fix it every couple of months.

Don't waste your money on this one. The technician during the first big repair told us they were having lots of problems with this model and basically said we could probably expect more for the future.

Had it less than 2.5 years and it went out. Called the sears repair man and had to pay 260.00 and they could fix it for $1060.40. That is the cost of a new one. He said it was a faulty part in the machine when it was manufactured, and they would not stand behind their product. Very dissatisfied with Sears and and Whirlpool :(...

This looks AMAZING! My only complaint is it doesn't seem to get as cold as it should. I purchased it for an extra, to only store drinks and it has been installed for over a week and the drinks only seem to get 40 degrees...which I am use to having my drinks with a little ice in them. The cold temp ranges from 1-9 and I have it at 9 and it is the same temp as set on 6?...

I've had my fridge for three years now, never had a problem with it. None of the drawers cracked, the compressor never went out, never had to battle with customer service. I can use it to keep a ton of food as cold as I like. I feel bad for the people who've had such difficulties with theirs, but I, personally, have never had an issue with it.

It does exactly what a refrigerator is supposed to do: it sits quietly in my kitchen, looks pretty, and keeps my food cold.

I have never reviewed a product before, but I had to voice my opinion on this Kenmore Refridgerator. I am a loyal Kenmore buyer, but this fridge should be removed from product line or redesigned.

What is fridge for..to keep things cold, this does not. The door on a fridge should shut tight, but this does not. Maybe the door is too big for the seals. The unit has to be turned all the way down, but you are lucky to get the temperature down to mid forties. Sears service people have admitted they hate to work on this unit. Repairs will be needed after a year of use.

If the fridge door worked like the freezer door that matches the Fridge, this would be a super combo, but alas, it does not.

I have owned this for almost 3 years. During the second year it started leaking and did not cool enough to keep foods fresh. The switches were replaced and it once again cooled to about 42F. Now it has been less than one year later and again the same problem has occurred. This appliance is unreliable. I did not buy this to last only a couple of years. This is the second Kenmore appliance I have owned to fail so soon after purchase. I will never buy another!!!

We've owned this refrigerator for 5 years now. We've spent the last year trying to have it repaired with no success. It's needed repair service about once a month and with every visit came a new excuse as to why it wasn't cooling properly. we were told there are no leaks, they replaced the temperature controller, the heat excahnger and evaporator and 'recharged' the system numerous times. This last visit we were told the compressor is shot which is, of course, not covered under warranty. So after a year of service calls and over $200 dollars out of our pocket, we were told to start shopping for a new refrigerator. So I guess we will - but it won't be a Kenmore or from Sears this time!

If you're looking for a great looking fridge that only works for a few years, this is the fridge for you! But if you want something more reliable, I'd keep looking.
