Most HelpfulI bought two of these, along with the freezers and trim kits. They look great and offer more space for the money than you can find anywhere.
The freezers have performed famously, but the refrigerators are horrible. I've had the compressor in one unit replaced twice and once in the second unit. Both have the same issues --banging so loudly that it disturbs our sleep and failing to defrost the coils properly and consequently warming to the point of spoiling our perishable food. Sears service has now refused to honor the 5 year compressor warranty and refuses to admit that these units are...
read full review »This unit (Kenmore Elite 16.7 cf freezerless) has by far the largest amount of storgage space of any unit on the market that will fit a standard sized space. In fact, it has even more refrigeragtor storage space than any 'premium' oversized unit I've looked at, including the Kenmore Pro priced at over $5600. I have used a measuring tape and calculated square inches of shelf space and cubic inches, and this has about 50% more than a standard side by side, and 30% more than any other unit. That was its big attaction. We've had side by sides for many years, and never had enough fridge space. ...

I'm so mad at myself for giving Sears and Kenmore so much of my hard earned money! I WAS a Kenmore Loyalist..Never Again! I remodeled my entire kitchen and of course used ALL Kenmore Elite prod. Oh, yeah..I am barely getting to...

Also note that after the 2nd day of installation, the freezer would not freeze,, I called my local Sears manager and informed him the problem and since we had a new construction home (Wood Floors were to be finished later in the...
