Kenmore Elite 16.7 cu. ft. Upright Freezer (2871) —
I've been a Kenmore customer for many years. I had originally bought a Kenmore freezer (14 cf model 28432) which I was very unhappy with. I exchanged that freezer for this Kenmore Elite (17 cf model 28712). I am very happy with this new freezer. It runs quietly, efficiently and is an Energy Star. The outside is sleek and stylish with rounded corners and a temperature gauge on the door. It has an alarm to notify me if the electricity for the freezer has gone off or if the door was not fully closed. The inside is roomy with lots of moveable shelves on the door, a large basket on the bottom, moveable bookshelves to keep items separated and a soft ice cream compartment. I really did not think that an ice cream compartment would make me happy - but it does!! It keeps the ice cream soft enough that it can be easily scooped out of the container and not microwaved to soften it. The customer service that I received at the Escondido, CA Sears store was wonderful (thank you Wanda!). She went out of her way to help me with the exchange and even called her neighbor on the phone so that I could ask her questions about the new Kenmore freezer that she had just bought. All in all I would highly recommend this freezer, it's wonderful.
