We've had this freezer for a couple months now and one significant design flaw has reared its ugly head: sometimes when you open the freezer door, the door of the soft-freeze zone, which is a long piece of plastic that opens downward and is built into the door of the freezer, gets caught onto the inside edge of the freezer. This results in not being able to open the freezer door beyond about 3 inches, unless you want to break off the soft-freeze zone door.

We are pleased with the performance of this freezer [and fridge] so far, but think it should be noted that the energy guide listed in the product page is not for this model, nor is it for any of the model numbers listed, as they do not show up when searched, they must no longer exist. The correct energy usage of this, as shown on the tag in the product, is much more. Barring that, the extra space in the freezer probably saves $, if you buy extra foods on sale, but it's not good environmentally.Unit is generally quiet, icemaker noises a little distracting at first.

I have read several review of this unit with people bleating that it is poor quality. To be honest even though it looks like a $7000 unit when it is built i with the refrigerator unit and the luxury trim it's quality is not up to that standard -WHAT A SURPRISE !!!
However, it's quality is superior to other units at this price - it is not a noisy unit as some would lead you to beleve ( for those who think it is they should read about mechanical resonance and see if they have a problem with their cabinets instead of focussing on...
