Very Nice Microwave - Overall

Kenmore Elite 2.0 cu. ft. Microhood Combination with Even Glide Plus Turntable —

I did research on several microwaves since our old Sharp (microhood) died on us. This one came back with more options than most. We really wanted to be sure it had Sensor Heating! When we looked at the microwave after reviewing the features online we weren't real sure about that "knob" menu options idea. We love it! It has tons of options that allow you to pick and choose exactly how you want your food done. One of my favorites is the "Softening" your butter option. You choose how many sticks of butter you have and it softens it almost perfectly! Also, the "melting" butter is great too because it doesn't 'fry' the butter! There are so many options I can't explain them all here, but everything from and AUTO night light to a tray that not only spins but goes from side to side. Also, the inside is way larger than our old Sharpe model, not sure how they managed that since the outside dimensions are the same since they are engineered to fit in the same place above the stove. We like that a lot too. CONS: There are two things: My wife doesn't like the fact that it is stainless steel on the inside (doesn't like the fact that it has to always be cleaned up) (only if you make a mess) heh! :) The thing I don't like is we have the black version and the buttons below the nob are not backlit. So, in the dark you can't see where the cancel button is if you want to cancel something early. I guess you could just open the door, but I can't see the light button either so I can turn the stove light on. INSTALLATION: This wasn't TOO bad. It took me a little longer than expected becaus you have to have your measurements EXACTLY on or the screws that attach the top of the unit to your cupboards above won't line up. It was easier puting this one in than taking the old one down, but still had a few issues with allignment and the fact I had to make a few of my own holes on the template (back tin) piece so that I could at least hit a few studs in the wall. OVERALL: Great unit! We watched for some deals from Sears and ended up getting it at a ONE DAY in-store only deal ontop of the deal offered here online.
