Nice features, but buggy turntable

Kenmore Elite 2.0 cu. ft. Microhood Combination with Even Glide Plus Turntable —

I bought this as the matching microhood for our Kenmore range (#80833) two years ago. This microhood is a great performer, with easy to use manual and autocook options. The vent could be better, and QUIETER. The kitchen timer option and auto nightlight are nice features. Has a very nice popcorn setting, too. The dial/toggle instead of a number pad took a little getting used to. All the autocook categories (and there are many, with subcategories) have preperation advice/instructions that work really well. My only problem with this unit is with the turntable. It doesn't simply rotate in the middle of the oven, but rather rotates on a platform that slides from side to side in a shallow recessed well. Frequently, but inconsistantly, the platform gets out of synch with the rotating arm and the platform may be lifted as it gets pushed out of the well. I don't know if it is a design flaw or a mechanical problem. When this happens it is very noisy as the glass turntable platter bangs around inside the unit. I keep the well clean and often check the platform's rollers. I haven't found an obvious obstruction, and have no idea why it happens one time, but not the next.
