Kenmore Elite 20.6 cu. ft. Upright Freezer (2809) —

We recently purchased a Kenmore Elite 20.6 cu.ft. Upright Freezer. I really like the design of the main freezer compartment (3 drawers and 3 shelves) making it easy to access things. However the door has a "Soft Freeze Zone" that is advertized as good for ice cream and other items you want to keep a little softer. HA! The compartment 1s 22" X 5" X 5" which will not hold any thing but dixie cup size containers. It would be great for 1/2 gallons, etc.. if it were big enough to hold them It keeps the smaller ice creams(popsicles, fudgecicles, bars, etc. TOO SOFT. What a WASTE of precious space!

In addition the door seal is already not sealing tight at the top and ice forms inside and on top of the door. The noise it makes is also annoying, but at least it is in the laundry room. I am already very disappointed in this purchase and I've only had it 2 months.

I totally agree with the previous reviews about the soft freeze zone - is not large enough, not nearly cold enough, stuff can fall our, and even the freezer set at -4 does not keep ice cream hard in the main compartment.

I agree. I purchased this same freezer. The soft freeze compartment only hold round containers of ice cream, which promptly fall out each time you open it. My door broke in less than 2 weeks. What idiot designed this door? It is too small, needs to be tilted so everything doesn't fall, and doesn't work anyway... everything ices up anyway.
