This freezer is awful. DO NOT BUY!!! I purchased in July for a new home. Thought it sounded loud but it seemed to cool OK. Moved in in October and found ice cream was mushy, meat was slowly defrosting, and juice bars had turned into juice drinks. Called Sears for Service the appointment that was supposed to happen between 1-5 didn't happen until 7:00PM. He said it was an electronics problem and he would have to order a part and I would have to have another service call when the part came in. Today 11/20 (another appointment between 8-12 that didn't happen until after 1:00) I had...

My previous Kenmore upright freezer was 15 years old that was kept in the garage enduring seasonal temperature changes in the North. I wanted to get a more "energy Efficient" model. Now I wish I had kept my old freezer. This one is also in the garage and I can here it in my family room and it gets louder as I approach the door to the garage. There is a hole in the back that has been plugged with putty, don't understand the function of that. If you don't mind the high noise level, it is a very attractive spacious appliance....

The only real drawback that I can see right now because we haven't owned it very long is the pizza shelf is sort of flimsy. Has a lot of room and freezes well. It's out in the garage so don't have anything to say about noise. Haven't noticed any noise though when I've gone out to get something out for dinner. All in all I would recommend this to a friend. Have had no problems as of yet with it.
This was bought to replace an old, not-so-energy-efficient Frigidaire freezer we've had for many years. We've had it for about a month and are very pleased with all the storage options. It is also holding nicely at -4-degrees. It's located in our garage. I don't notice any real difference in noise level from our old freezer. We had a good experience with Sears scheduling the delivery. We live in California. We did not pay Sears to haul away our old freezer. Instead, our utility company's (PG&E) energy recycling program will pickup the old freezer and pay us $35.00 to do it!. Not...

When I had to replace a 30-year-old freezer last week, the only place I thought to purchase from was Sears. I had recently purchased a refrigerator from Sears for my garage.
I wanted to purchase something from the same sales person. I wanted it delivered by the same people. I also wanted to purchase merchandise with continuously-experienced quality! That was Sears.
Yes, I could have brought something a little more 'fancy', but this particular freezer has everything I need. It is big enough for small to medium-sized families. It is well-organized. I appreciate the sliding drawers and the sliding...
read full review »Noisy just a bit as it cycles on, but it's not an issue for us as it is in the garage. Seems very large inside, I like that it draws in the door when it closes, and that it's frost free!
We ordered this freezer based on having seen one in the store in another town, then finding the best price here on the internet. We saved something like $65.00 in delivery fees by ordering on-line. We placed the order and were notified it would be delivered a few days later. When the time came, we got a phone call confirming the delivery.
The only problem we had with the delivery was when the guys showed up, they said "oh, you ordered this on the internet..." "Yep," says I. "Well, when you order something on the internet they just hire us to drop it off. We can't move it into that room...

This Elite was larger than we thought, and the arrangement and versatility of the shelves is convenient. The freezer cooled down to 0 within a short time, and has never budged in the 3-4 weeks we've had it. Since it's in the garage we don't notice the noise, but it seems to be exceptionally quiet. So far, so good. We're already filling it up with the season's fruits.
We love it we had an old freezer from the 60's it used so much electricity. This new kenmore saves us so much money. It has lots of space inside to store our food so we can buy more in bulk saving again on some food items ans it has a thermostat.Love it! i think if it had ben for the door alarm I would have no food the kids leave the door open .It lets me know when they do.I like that feature best.
Just replaced an old but still running Huge not Frost-free Kenmore freezer with this one. Love the organized insides. I can now find what I need and not have to dig it out of a snow bank. Like the front door control panel that shows me the exact temperature. Wish the ice cream storage area was a little bit bigger. The fact it is Energy Star rate is a plus
