Reading the reviews really helped me so I thought I'd give something back and give the first review for this refrigerator. Overall, it is an excellent refrigerator. The outside appearance is absolutely first class. I polished it and it is gleaming in my kitchen. The selection for counter depth french door refrigerators is somewhat slim. Your choices include water and ice in the door, water in the door or water inside the refrigerator. Straight away I eliminated the models with water inside the refrigerator. i drink a lot of water and did not want to have to open the refrigerator anytime I wanted a glass. That left the models with either water in the door or both water and ice. I was tempted to get both but the models that have both have two issues: 1. added complexity by having to have both a freezer function as part of the refrigerator (to produce the ice) and 2. appearance (none of the models that had both were able to provide an pleasing appearance - the fill mechanism and surrounding area tended to be black and ugly). For me, that left the models that only had water in the door. Kenmore did a great job with the appearance of this unit. While the water fill area and accompanying lcd screen are not made from stainless steel they are made from a top quality plastic that harmonizes very well with the stainless. The water also fills quickly and the light is a LED light that is very bright. Well done! The doors are also very nice and there is tons of gallon door storage inside. The fruit and veggie drawers feature a tilt out door in the front that is useful for storing small items. The pantry door operates well and provides a ton of storage. My one complaint is that the items in the freezer tend to collect a lot of ice on then. I don't quite understand that and may need to actually read the manual. Also, while there is a button that allows you to alter the size of the ice cubes produced it doesn't really seem to make that much of a difference in the actual size. Anyway, I would definitely recommend this refrigerator. Best!
