Terrific Refrigerator-Plenty of Freezer Space

I've had this refrigerator for 3 months and I think it's ideal- terrific styling and plenty of capacity for a two -person household. This is my second cabinet-depth refrigerator and although it has the same outside dimensions as my previous Amana, it is 3.5cu ft larger. I think this all came in the freezer... read full review »

same old ice maker problems :(

I research everything and decided on this fridge. Love the ice bucket. However, I am having service out for the second time and I only bought fridge in January!!! The auger in the icemaker has frozen up again and I didn't even use the crushed ice!! I still don't understand why we buy a fridge that has... read full review »

A space and "life" saver!

Just took delivery yesterday. Had a very difficult space to fit (poorest kitchen design EVER!)...but this puppy did the trick! We looked at dozens of brands and models but settled on this one, and so far we are very happy. It's very quiet. Cooled down to operating temperature in a little over 2 hours...impressive! Only had it for 24 hours, but overall we love it.

We give the product a thumbs up.

We're very satisfied with this model. The limited depth and height of the available space were of concerns and this fit perfectly. It's very quiet, with a nice size freezer for a side by side. When the ice maker dumps into the empty ice bin the cubes do make a good CLUNK but after it's partially full the clunk is reasonable.

Bad design

I purchased this because of the cubic feet and needed a counter depth refrigerator. Considered the french door style but the refrigerator area is too small and the frozen food section too large for me. I was hesitant because of the STUPID bin on the door, the salesperson said it was wonderful as you could wash your berries etc and put them in that section and they are ready to eat. A normal shelf would have made 100% more sense. Trust me, the designer doesn't have this in his home. Wasted space, so far so good mechanically. Arrived with a scratch, given 150$discount, was to be $200

Smudges & Finger Prints

The frig is a beautiful work of engineering. I too am a little baffled by the hinged shelf (?) in the door unit. The only complaint that I have is the black front surface. The salesman told us that we could touch it all we wanted and that no finger prints or smudges would show. (He also didn't have one to show us on the floor, only stainless.) He was totally wrong. They (finger prints) not only show, we're constantly trying to get rid of them. A very difficult act. We're on our 2nd frig, going toward our third. The first 2 were scratched badly and the smudges couldn't be cleaned. I'm giving Sears... read full review »

Water dispenser leaks

The water dispenser on my unit drips continuously since day one. I called for service, but the guy who came out didn't even look at it and told me to run more water through it, even though we have run 20 gallons through it already. I called service again, they said they would call me back, but didn't Poor quality, poor service.

Great unit so far

Had this installed yesterday. Everything works perfectly. Nearly silent operation. Cooled quickly when turned on and started making ice. Delivery and installation was OUTSTANDING. Unit had a VERY SMALL paint blemish on a corner. I had some white automotive touch up paint and took care of it myself. No problem. Unit does not have plastic caps to hide the door hinges. However, we didn't have any clearance for caps anyway. Hinges look fine. In-store sales staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Only one day old, so I don't know about durability. It's made by Whirlpool, so it will probably last... read full review »

Satisfied

The only "complaint" I have about this fridge is the Fresh & Ready (or whatever it's called) bin that sits inside the fridge door. I, honestly, am a bit baffled as what to do with this. Strangely, the manual that comes with the fridge does not even mention this 'feature'. I had to go online & figure out what it was for / what it is supposed to do. It's rather bulky & limits what you can place on the interior shelves that touch this bin when the door is closed. I would have preferred just to have additional door shelves. Other than that, we've had this unit for two weeks & have enjoyed it tremendously.... read full review »

Good fridge

I purchased the refrigerator in December 2006 and it works great. My only complaint is that in June of this year the light came on to change the water filter and I am finding it almost impossible to find a Pur Ultimate II water filter and everytime I go to Sears website to check and see if they have it, they are out of stock. Not happy at all about not being able to find the replacement filter...

Loud, loud, loud

We purchased this refridgerator about a month ago. We soon discovered that everything about it is loud --- from the humming noise when it kicks in, to the icemaker dropping the icecubes, to the water refilling the ice tray, to the sound when you shut the door and it decompresses the rubber gasket. We're unfortunate to have our bedroom next to the kitchen. I've honestly found myself startled from sleep when the icemaker goes on. Yes, it's that noisy. Lastly, there are some serious design flaws in the way the fridge opens. It's puzzling that you can't open the vegetable and fruit bins without hitting... read full review »

Kenmore side by side

Great looking refridgerator. Blends in with standard cabinet depth so it looks flush like higher end models. This does reduce interior space by it is hardly noticeable in the fridge. The freezer is the tighter space but having the ice bucket on the door helps. Extremely quiet and great control features. I have it at the end of a line cabinets so I ordered the monochrome side panels which look ok. The one side I can see is full of all the fridge magnets that used to be on the front. The interior fridge compartments (veg / salad ) tend to side a little more difficult than they should. So much so... read full review »
