I LOVE this microwave. My Panasonic quit working after only 3 years. I bought an LG, and returned it because the Kenmore and LG were almost identical in features. I did lots of research and decided on the Kenmore. I like brands like Sharp, Panasonic, Amana, and such but hey...............they're all made in China just like the Kenmore, so might as well get a microwave that is loaded with features I like for less........and backed by Sears!
This this is a hunk of junk and I wouldn't be surprised if it was made in China!
The first thing I noticed was the door didn't line up with the body of the machine. Then, the door itself it made very cheaply - it feels like it will break if you shut it too hard. Honestly, it looks and feels like an easy bake oven and I bet those are made better.
Then, I decide to at least try it out before returning it. When I plugged it in - the gosh darn thing turned on! Scared the you-know-what out of me! So, I pushed the stop button...it didn't stop!!! I pushed it over and over and it wouldn't shut...
read full review »First off after reading the 6 reviews published I did further research and found the EXACT same 6 reviews at every website bashing this product. I figured if only 6 reviews were bad out of the thousands that they have sold I would give it a try , and I purchased the extended warranty for 9.99 for peace of mind 9.99 to fix or replace for 2 years not a bad deal.
Microwaves these days are built on the cheap , sure the door doesn't feel solid like a 2000.00 Viking if you're looking for that kind of quality pony on up the big bucks.
For what is paid, this microwave performs great and as expected...
read full review »We have loved all the Kenmore appliances we have purchased and decided to look for that brand when we needed a new microwave. This one is perfect for a large family. Lots of space to cook 2 vegetable bowels at the same time for supper. Speaking of veggies, the cook frozen veggie button works great for steam bags and bowls of food. The rounded back makes it even more roomy for our square bacon pan to fully rotate while cooking for a more even doneness. I can't say enough good things about this appliance.
Microwave is really good, has alot of power. sensors only work sometimes, others it burns so best to set time manually after you get an estimate. so far no problems. works well, cooks fast. 16" internal carasel dish. mega amount of space. as always a warranty purchase is wise in case since cheap, but so far have not needed it.
I don't know why I bought this despite the 2-star rating! Hours after we bought this microwave we realized that the #2 button was broken. No wonder we could not program the time!....
Great cooking when it works. Purchased 10/21/08. First service was 1/27/09 when the control panel was replaced. Second service 9/30/09 when cathode ray tube was replaced.
This is my third microwave (all Kenmore) over the years and it is the best yet. It fits perfectly under my counter and looks great. Most importantly, it has wonderful features; even better than the one I had before. One of my favorites is the autocook that thaws rolls and muffins, or just warms them from the fridge. The autocook for bacon makes each slice come out perfectly. But I use all the features and think they are great. I only have one appliance in my house that is not a Kenmore and that was a gift.
This microve has not operated properly since we purchased it. It makes grinding noises, the turn stile stopped working consistently. Never knew if it would spin or not. Could sometimes get it going by giving it a spin. I purchased this mircrowave a year ago so of course the warranty has run out. I decided to check Sears web site to see if there were similar complaints to mine and low and behold - Sears web site is full of the same complaints and problems that I experienced with mine. So I thought, Gee - with so many loyal Sears customers logging the same complaints about the same...
read full review »First of all I do not expect microwaves to last decades but this is RIDDICULOUS from a Kennmore! My daughters birthday is November 7 and we can not celebrate it with her because she passed away from a seizure 2 years ago March 1. You are probably saying what does this have to do with a Microwave Our old 13 or 14 year old Kennmore Microve my grandma had given us finally gave up. having gone through 2 other store brands we decided to splurge on our daughters birthday November 7, 2009 and buy a brand new Kennmore I had recently purchased a vaccumm and was becoming a loyal Kennmore customer. Until...
read full review »We love our Kenmore Elite microwave. We use it several times a day. My husband is a "microwave expert/pro". My 6 1/2 year old daughter can operate it no problem. It is huge and very very powerful. I love the kitchen timer, the defrost, the melt, and the popcorn button.
