I love this dishwasher!

When my dishwasher broke, I got excited. I had looked at the Kenmore Elite Double Drawer Dishwasher with sliding and variable position tines for about 2 years, and knew that at some point, it would be mine!  It has been perfect. Most of our children are gone, and it has been great to use and does a...

This dishwasher seemed perfect for our needs.  We knew it would be smaller and larger items would not fit.  However, it takes FOREVER to run a load.  Then once it is finally complete, we open it to find the dishes still dirty or worse.  Come to find out it must have the rinse aid (which we use anyway)...

Do not purchase this dishwasher!

I have had the Drawer Dishwasher for 3 years have had to have a service calls or ordered parts at least 7 times. The plastic vents pieces from the front of the drawers break constantly, not its leaking on my floor.

I have replaced all my appliances with the Kenmore Elite,we have had a problem with almost all of them. The Compactor is about all that has not has a issue.

This dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes, doesn't dry the dishes, leaks water on the floor, the vents break off for no apparent reason and then it runs for hours before it finally shuts off (or you finally shut it off) with dirty dishes still inside. You can't put a full sized plate upright, because the draws are too small. I've been a loyal Kenmore customer for many years & have completely furnished numerous houses with all Kenmore products, but this purchase was the biggest mistake I've ever made & Sears is happy to keep on coming out to repair it at your cost. Do yourself a favor and...

We bought this because of the two drawer concept but....

it is poorly designed for stacking dishes and has very low capacity.  It will not take larger plates without just putting plates in  with nothing else.

it is the most difficult rack and placement system I have ever seen on a dishwasher.

the dark interior makes it impossible to see what you have in the dw or where you can add something.

it is noisy and has a very, very long cycle.  given the low capacity, you run it more also.

we opted to change it for a Bosh even though we lost $200 on the return.  We love the Bosh 500 evolution model.

Worst appliance ever purchased

I liked the concept of the two drawer system as it is only my husband and myself at home. As well, it was slightly smaller than other models and would actually fit in the available space. In retrospect, I would rather have the empty hole that this dishwasher. It will not hold a standard sized plate, particularly in the bottom drawer. It does not hold the same amount of dishes as a traditional dishwasher. You can't fill this one to capacity as the dishes will simply not clean. I have had nothing but trouble with the vent cover. The tabs continually break. I have had the repairman there once, to... read full review »

1 star

I wished I would of read all the negative reviews before I bought mine. I haven't been able to even get mine hooked up yet the drain connector that was suppose to be with it was not in the unit .It is a special part I went all over town trying to buy one and had no luck it only comes from Kenmore. So it is still setting in the middle of my Kitchen floor. So all I can do is set and wait until they get around to sending me the part I need.

This machine is great

We have downsized from a family of 4 to just my husband and I. Our older dishwaser was on its last leg anyways and I knew this was what I wanted! I love it! There are days when we barely fill just one drawer. I usually wash large cookware by hand anyways. When all the kids are here we use both drawers (and maybe wash a second load). This washer is so quiet that we can actually run it while we are still in the kitchen, too! I am so glad I have this dishwasher!

Horrible machine

We had this dishwasher for 3 weeks, it never washed a dish. repair was out and ordered hundreds of dollars worth of parts. The tech blamed our hard water although my 10 yr old cheap o Kenmore worked fine. this thing runs for hours, leaves the dishes wet and horribly spotted, soap residue. Its almost like its painting the dishes flat white. Save you money and trouble, next stop,Maytag.

i also like the idea of two separate washers, the style, and potentially saving money, but this just doenst work well. i had to have sears service out twice in the first year as well. funny thing that the service guy also said that these drawer style units are plagued with problems- the dont wash well, they dry poorly, and they actually have other problems too - this is verbatim what the sears service guy said when he was over.

units looks lice and are quiet.

dont expect to clean a full load of dishes unless you have cleaned them all first by hand and then the unit can finish the job.

Not practical, yet aesthetically nice

I purchased this 2 drawer dishwasher under the guise that it would make life simpler by allowing for less waste and ease of use, i.e. loading and unloading. This is totally not the case. The Dishwasher drawers, both fully loaded, do not hold the same amount of dishes and such as the normal built in pull down door style. Thus, you are running alot more often and with less efficacy. This style is not practical, and if you need an appliance requiring practicality, i would say the dishwasher for a family with kids is ranked right up there. Buy the Kenmore Elite Built in HE instead.

Do Not Buy This!!

When I bought my new house the Builder has installed a cheap dishwasher which I thought I should replace. Well I was wrong!! The Kenmore Elite Drawer Dishwasher was the worst purchase I ever made. Dishes are not clean and the it runs for four hours. I should have kept the cheap dishwasher and not spent $1300 on this one. I called my local Sears store and the rep would not help at all. She said that I bought it and now I need to make it work!! WOW...Anyway, rethink any ideas that you have to purchase this mistake.

Not a good product

This was bought for a gift and I am so sorry that my family wasted their money on it. Since I have had it about 2 years now - the repair man has been here about 6 times to fix the same problem with the vents. When the tabs on the break off and they come loose - water poors out under the unit and under your flooring. I have had to replace flooring and not to mention parts to the dishwasher. The repairman tried to blamed this on improper loading(it was empty when he saw it - not sure how he came up with this) until he had to come back about 4 more times. I am getting charged for repairs that are... read full review »

I LOVE this dishwasher!

I've had this dishwasher for 9 months and LOVE it. I must have one of the newer models because my dishwasher has none of the problems that other reviewers have with their models. I love having 2 different drawers to run at different times. The bottom drawer seems to be deeper and fits large pots and platters (just put them a little tilted and all sizes can fit.) Also, be sure to get the tilting tines to adjust larger dinner dishes so that they can fit diagonally. It's quiet, cleans very well, and I recommend this to anyone. It's my favorite appliance in my kitchen, and I trust Kenmore more than... read full review »
