Easy and fast

Have been using this unit for approximately 1.5 years.  It was the only 30" full induction cooktop in the price range at the time (all 4 eyes are induction).  Cooks wonderfully and is easy to operate.  Only issue I've had is that the touch controls respond to random objects at times other than my...

Most Helpful Critical Review

I will start by saying that I love cooking with this cooktop. It heats up fast, cools down fast, is energey efficient, and the varied heat controls make it as good as cooking with gas. Unfortunately, within one month of purchasing th cooktop we had an error message for high voltage. After 2 weeks...

We've had a KENMORE Induction Cooktop for 22 years.  It is like no other cooktop we have every used and we love it.  Have never had any trouble with it.

Induction cooktop Stoves are the best thing I have ever used to cook like a gourmet pro in my kitchen. It saves me time, energy, heat and money on my electiric bills. I use my iCookware with this cooktop and it's a match made in cooking heaven. This cooktop is the most valuable tool I own. It's easy clean up since I can cook directly over a towel on the burner since it is induction it only heats up the steel of the cookware. This way I do not scratch my cooktop or my cookware and they both look as new as the day I purchased them. No more greasy drip pans in my kitchen.

It's been over 3 years now that I have had my 30" induction cooktop. I was remodeling my kitchen, had done some research on induction four burner cooktops but all I could find was super high end products that cost over $3,000. Then I saw on ad on "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" and checked it out on the Sears website. For $1,700 I had a four burner induction cooktop in my new kitchen and cooking has never been more pleasant. I had a couple of time it freaked out on my and I had to flip the breaker. No big deal though. I brag about it to anyone who's considering new appliances. I feel bad for the...

Positive review turns negative

I loved this cooktop for the 2.5 years it worked. Cooked well. Looked beautiful. Cleaned like a dream. But it sort-of popped a month ago--and showed error #35. $700 later it still isn't working and they are saying it needs an additional $365 part. If I were to buy an induction cooktop again, I would invest in the service contract. I hate service contracts! and never get them -- but this would be the one thing I would get it for.  (Note- for the $700 a year this induction top has averaged-out costing me, I could have bought a new, decent electric cooktop and thrown it out evey year for a...

Great appliance

I have had this cooktop for about 4 months now and I'm very happy with it. I would prefer a gas stove, but am not set up for that, but as far as electric goes this product is great. The positioning of the elements is a little strange, I feel like they are far away from me, but getting used to it. I love the touch pad and the speed in which things heat up and cool down. It is very easy to clean and looks great when it's clean. One thing to consider before purchasing this appliance is whether your cookware is magnetic. I found out the hard way that most of my cookware did not work with this induction... read full review »

LOVE IT!

I have had this cooktop for three years. I use it at least three times a day and usually am using all four units. I will be building a new house soon and I will also purchase this cooktop for that house. I like it THAT MUCH!!! The only problem I have had is the trim strip came loose on the front. I did purchase the extended warranty, so no hassles there.

one and a half years and still happy

before we bought we read the reviews and added the warranty at the lat minute. So far so good 1.5 years of cooking and the cooktop still looks like new and performs great. We are also only using a 30 Amp circuit and it has never blown (instructions call for 40 amp). I find the buttons a little frustrating to adjust in a hurry. sometimes it reads my finger sometimes I have to try a few times. I bought this one because I wanted a 30" and I was also price conscious. I really really like induction!

I purchased the Elite 30 Induction Cooktop November 2005.   I bought it for a vacation home that we rarely use, yet alone cook in.  The few times I used it was to impress friends boiling water.  On a recent inspection I discovered the cook top reading a "2" on all burners, an error code 80 and inoperable.  Sears first sent a technician who stated that these cooktops required a special tech familiar with these products.  Sears then sent a 2nd technician who stated that the main board had failed with a cost of under $400.00 to fix.  I agreed to the repair, but was then shipped the wrong...

Buyer Beware

I had a Kenmore Elite installed in Dec 2008. After a power outage, on Christmas day, the cooktop had an error message and an annoying beep that wouldn't stop until we turned off the breaker. Every time we tried to restart the cooktop, the annoying beep persisted. It took 2-3 hours before it would restart. We continued to have power outages during January and the same thing occurred repeatedly, but each time the cooktop took longer to reboot. Once it took 3 days before I could use it again. In Feb, serviceman came, couldn't figure out problem so replaced the entire guts of the unit ($1300 their... read full review »

Awesome Cooktop

With my Fabulous New iCookware and this Induction CookTop it's marriage made in Cooking Heaven! They work excellent together. Great to cook on top of a towel. I dont scratch cooktop or Beautiful Cookware. Everything I cook comes out like Gourmet! Both these things has made cooking even more fun than before. I love not sweating over any heat. Once you buy the induction Cooktop along with my iCookware, you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. You will also want to upgrade to the correct cookware.

Works great when it is working, but...

We owned this units since Nov 2007. The induction technology works great. Boils water rapidly, heats instantly. However, after one brief power outage, the unit has become unreliable. Intermittently, the unit would show various error codes which resolves with cutting the power to the unit 48hrs minimum. We have contacted Sears for repair. After two technicians, 3 visits, 2 incorrect parts ordered and replaced, we are at 7 weeks without a functioning cook top. Both technicians (one of them with 30 yrs of experience) eventually admitted that these were very new units and both haven't seen many of... read full review »

Induction Cooktop

I have had this cooktop for a few months now and have found a new love of cooking. Not only is it fast to heat up but on low simmer actually keeps food warm similar to a crock pot. Even delicate rices stay warm and do not overcook. I cook a lot of soups and they can be left simmered unattended instead of requiring frequent stirring. The surface is easily cleaned with vinegar and water and stays clean as glass. you can clean it right after cooking as there is no heat from the surface, there is no heat generated you dont get cooked on food that stains and clumps. I had a radiant cooktop and that... read full review »
