A week after we got the range, it would start beeping randomly giving some error with the over door lock. it took 2 weeks to get a service appointment. Then they called to say they would be an hour and a half after the 8am to 12pm window that the technician was going to show up. While I was trying to find out when the tech was going to show up, they canceled my appointment. I had to reschedule another appointment a week later; i asked that i be the first one on the route since it was their fault that their tech ran late. Now they give me an window between 10am and 2pm. The hassle isn't worth...
read full review »We purchased this range to replace a Kitchen-Aid full convection glass top range, with two halogen burners out of five. The first thing you'll notice is the cook top doesn't get hot. Only the pan, or pot gets hot. The second thing you'll notice is this thing heats really fast. I can boil a pot of water in a fraction of the time it took on my Kitchen-Aid, using the halogen burner. The spacing of the burners is ideal, with more than enough room for any combination of pots, or pans. The large burner is more than adequate for a four and a half gallon stock pot. Because only the pot bottom...

This range is beautiful...just gorgeous and it is a pleasure to look at. It's sleek, and unlike what a previous reviewer said, quite easy to clean. I use a ceramic cooktop cleaner and when I'm finished (about a minute) can see my reflection on the cooktop. =)
The induction top is amazing...boils water in under a minute and cuts cooking time in half. The convection oven makes my baked goods turn out perfect - even, brown, flaky. ...
read full review »The induction range, convection oven, and warming drawer each perform magnificently. This is my first induction and convection unit, but it's hard to imagine what more I could ask from the heating technology. The induction elements in particular are very satisfying to use. The "power boost" setting is complete overkill most of the time (which is what I want) and the low settings are barely warm. Really great.
However the control panel is not as integrated as I'd like. Two things irk me in particular. When you turn on an induction element, you have to set either max or min power, and...

I purchased a brand new range and the LED clock broke within the first month. Getting it replaced took almost 3 weeks and I had to take two days off from work to have the board replaced. The Service Man said that they are aware of the problem and he doesn't think that the problem has been corrected. Sears will not issue a recall on the units. Not to mention, the box the part arrived in was damaged and the repair man installed it anyway. The label on the box said to handle the part with gloves, but the Service Man...
read full review »The induction range is the future of stove top cooking. It is quick, clean, precise and a joy to use. It is a pleasure to cook bacon and eggs each morning. The range heats the pan and, therefore, does not get that hot. When the pan is removed, the range cools quickly. If you have cats that impulsively jump on the range, it is less likely that they will get burned... same with kids. There is really no comparison to other ranges. Our Sears Kenmore Elite slide in is the best and, after a year, still impresses! Someday, most homes will be equipped with an induction range.
We have the Kenmore 30" induction cooktop, white, at home and love its speed (boils water in 30 seconds), fine-tuning ability (simmers at five levels without boiling; 1.6 is always the right level for my oatmeal, rather than a flame to adjust), its looks, cleanliness, safety (vs. propane no flame, no gas), and its efficiency. It cooks better, looks better, is cleaner, safer and more efficient than the propane cooktop it replaced. The white surface looks great and does not show fingerprints. We're wary of a black cooking surface — white goes better with our white countertops and does not show...
read full review »We recently built a new home and the slide in induction range was the one kitchen item that was "non-negotiable"---Using this technology, dinner can be whipped up in a fraction of the time; cooking is so much fun and clean-up is a breeze. We live in southern Virginia which is HOT and HUMID this time of year. Induction cooking is cool, does not "heat up the kitchen" like conventional stoves.
The touch pads are sensitive but there is a lock-out feature which addresses the potential problem of incidentally activating the controls. This minor issue is scarcely worth commenting about as we use the...
read full review »I've had this range for about 6 months and I love it. It boils water incredibly fast and it is very easy to pinpoint a heat setting for cooking pasta. No more boil overs. If you walk away from something and it does boil over, simply lift the pot and wipe the range top clean. The pan is hot and transfers a little heat to the cooktop, but the cooktop itself does not get red hot.
When frying I lay dish towels around the frypan so the stove doesn't get splattered. Your dishtowels will not get hot or catch on fire. I just noticed last night that the bottoms of my pans still look brand new. They are...

Just purchased this 30" slip-in for our Pennsylvania home, replacing a 4 year old G.E. electric range. Cooking is clean & rapid, warming oven is great, and the oven is very rapid. Best purchase we have made in years.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Very powerful and easy to use and keep clean.
Cook faster and better with precise temp control in range and oven.
Save me money on electricity
Slide-In brings new look to my kitchen
I loved it.
New set of pans make's it more attractive and fun
I read a lot about induction cooktops before I purchased this and thought this was a great solution to the electric range with the responsiveness of gas. I decided to spend a little extra money to buy this new range for my kitchen renovation. It didn't take me long to get used to cooking on this at all. I swear the first time I used it the food even tasted better. Top is easy to clean and maintain. I have amazed my friends with the demonstration of how it boils water in 90 seconds. If you are worried about scratching the ceramic surface with something like a cast iron skillet, just...
