Melting Control Knobs

Overall, the unit operates as designed, but there is a problem with the design. The 16,000 BTU power burner is located next to the control knobs. The control knobs are made of a soft plastic that is not heat resistant. When using large pots or pans, which is what the power burner is designed for,... read full review »

Too Hot

The colored metal frame in front of the burner grate gets VERY hot. After 20 min of use, I measured 240F in front of the right front burner and 171F in front of the left front burner. The right front was on a 5 setting and the left front on a 3 setting. The burners could not be adjusted to get the flame... read full review »

Good-looking and powerful

This cooktop makes me smile every time I use it. It looks sleek and elegant - as nice as much more expensive high-end cooktops. I chose this one because of the power-burner and value for the price, and after one year, it hasn't disappointed. I read the review about the controls melting and was a little worried about that, but so far it hasn't been a problem, and I almost always use that lower right burner.

30" gas cooktop

I have had this cooktop for approximately 2-3 months. I have really enjoyed it. It has performed very well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the simmer setting. It is a low setting, but not quite as low as you can get on electric. It would be better if it was a lower heat on the simmer setting. Otherwise, it is a great cooktop!! I do recommend it!

Excellent buy, performance and design

We wanted a cook top that would be recessed into the counter. The Kenmore Elite design worked very well with the other stainless steel appliances that we bought. In the six months we have owned this stove top the main burner we seem to use is the smallest one. We are very happy with the overall performance and would recommend it to anyone who likes its design

Knobs Turn Backwards

Just purchased a complete Kenmore Elite kitchen. What a disappointment the cook top is. It was not properly put together and the knobs turn backwards (oposite) a right handed person with a thumb would turn it. The way the knobs turn they should be mounted on the left hand side.
