I've had this range for about a year now. All the complaints here are ridiculous. This is the best value avaiable for a stainless gas range. The look is phenomenal. If your grates are uneven take them back because mine are level. Soapy water cleans the glass top, then go back with a dry cloth to buff... read full review »

My ancient range broke, and I learned that finding a 36" range is NOT easy, at least if you're on a budget. The old range had a horrible oven, but the cooktop was superior to this one. The grates not only sit crooked on the glass cooktop, but the pots and pans also rattle, shake, and even tip over on... read full review »

This is a beautiful range that has very, very good fit and finish. I've only cooked two meals (using several burners, including simmer burner for a cheese sauce) and love it. Baked two cakes and found the oven to heat quite evenly and accurately. The factory settings can be modified in the controls if the temperature's off. I shopped for a gas range for five years and I settled on one of the big name commercial brands in 36". In looking around I found a new one on closeout for $1,000 off retail ($6,500), final price $5,500. When it came time to say yay or nay, I just couldn't get excited about... read full review »

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend but it would be someone who doesn't bake or roast any large items and mostly uses the burners on their range. The performance of the burners and the overall appearance of this range are the two things that pull this out of the fire for me, so to speak. The power burner is great as things reach a boil a lot faster than on my old range and the simmer burner is nice as well. I do agree with the review that said the arrangement on the burners is poor - who wants to reach around a large pot to get to the tiny one on the back? The overall appearance of the range... read full review »

We have this range at home. It has some nice features - the 17,200 BTU burner can't be beat, the glass cooktop under the burners is a snap to clean, and it is really a beautiful stove to look at. The knobs are large and easy to handle, and the burners are smooth, efficient and well controlled. It's a joy to cook on this stove. On the down side, for this much money why is there no convention oven? For that matter, there should also be 6 burners as there are in the cooktop version. The arrangement of the burners bothers me - both big burners are up front with the teeny burners in the back; they... read full review »

When purchasing a range of this size, would have liked a larger capacity or 2nd oven. The under oven storage is not really necessary. Other than that, the range is wonderful

Let me start by saying that I have been cooking on a 60 year old stove -- The Odin Beautyrange DeLuxe (which, for its time, was really a great stove). Well, it died and I had to get something new (my first NEW stove... ever). I did my research and chose this stove, the Kenmore Elite 36" stainless steel gas stove. Let me tell you, it was SO worth the price (I nabbed it on sale). So far everything I have cooked on it or in it has turned out great. The power burners bring water to a boil so quickly that I almost wasn't prepared! The little simmer burner is a really nice feature, too. As far as all... read full review »

I have had this stove for a year or more and I LOVE it. I bake a lot of bread and it comes out perfect every time. as do my cakes. I have also done some canning on it. I like the griddle, very handy. The broiler does come down a little low but no problem for me. Love the burners and the fast heat one, the old stove I had was expensive and took forever to heat up, this one is awesome. It cooks like a dream. My husband wanted to get the pro but I liked the looks of this one much better. It's easy to clean, I put the grates in my dishwasher about once a week and sometimes wash all the burner tops... read full review »

The range is quite a beauty - especially for its price. There are two things I am not crazy about. The black top around the burners is a pain to clean. Any speck of food, water stain, crumb shows and being the neat freak I am, I am constantly cleaning and buffing the surface. If you don't buff it, it leaves streaks. Gets old - quick. Another bad feature: the stainless steel stove rim is quite wide and scratches easily - especially when trying to remove a pot from the stove. Tip: lift the pots, pans straight up, don't pull them. The oven and burners work awesome. I love the "warm feature".... read full review »

I had to buy a 36" range...not an easy task if you don't want to spend $6k or more! This range is BEAUTIFUL (people always comment on it), the burners work very well (better than my old very expensive DCS cooktop), the grills/grates are easy to remove, the oven cooks evenly, and it's easy to use. Re: cleaning -- it's stainless so you know what you're in for. A GREAT value -- I love it!

When we bought our first house we knew the kitchen was going to need work. The oven we had was 36" wide and we wanted the same size so that we didn't have any gaps. After much research this was the oven that fit the size and budget. Kenmore has always been a reliable brand and this oven hasn't disappointed. The range top has enough power or finesse for this average chef who loves to experiment a bit. The oven is steady with excellent insulation. The outside remains extremely cool to the touch when baking. I also love the continuous grates over the burners. Sears was excellent from point of purchase... read full review »

First, we had to have serviceman out due to a malfunctioning burner part. Range has a professional look, but not easy to keep looking clean. Even though the black top surface under burners is easy to clean, it shows smudges, smears, lint, dust or whatever. More upkeep than I expected. I am pleased with the oven, but has no convection. I agree with previous reviewer, the drawer under the oven is not a great plus. I keep the griddle and broiler pan in it. It is easy to set timer and temperature and to cancel/clear. Would I buy this stove again? My husband says no, and I would probably say no too.... read full review »

I bought this range along with a Kenmore Pro refrigerator a year ago and I really love it, but the oven is too small. I've tried roasting a prime rib and adding two casserole pans but they just won't fit. Our kitchen is narrow and if you lean against the burner knobs they turn on very easily, so anyone purchasing this range should be aware of this. I wish that the Kenmore Pro 36" Range had been available when I purchased this range, I would have bought it instead. Overall this is a very good looking range and it bakes and broils excellently.

I have had this stove for 3 months and I love it. The oven is the same size as my old one in a 30 inch stove so it doesn't bother me much at all. The extra burner is great because I like to cook for crowds. The cleanup? Let's face it, no stove top cleans itself so you do it. No big deal. Like someone else said, I don't miss a Viking because this one is so close to one at a fraction of the cost and all the looks. All in all, I love this stove, it's big, it's beautiful(if they can be)and it's finally mine. Thanks heaven.
