Kenmore Elite 420 Series Water Softener —

Bought this unit and am very pleased. Took a little work to get hooked up as the system comes with 1 inch pvc fittings and my home plumbing is 3/4 inch. I used a copper flex tubing with 3/4 fittings on each end and used a copper reducer to attach it to the softener. Could not stop water seepage around the copper fitting after trying about everything. Ended up getting another flex tubing with a 3/4 inch fitting on one end and 1 inch on the other so I wouldn't have to use a reducer. Anyway, since I am not a plumber and I chose to do this myself, I can't blame the softener. Once hooked up, it seems to be a quality item and I really enjoy seeing my water consumption being calculated and totalized on the screen. I would definitely recommend this unit.
