My dishwasher is just a few weeks old, and so far it's great. It is super quiet, and gets the dishes clean. It's so quiet we can run it while dining just a few feet away.
I had my new dishwasher installed by Sears. The service guy showed up on time, did the install, and cleaned up in just over one hour. Also, he removed associated trash. I was very pleased.
My husband and I purchased this dishwasher 3 years ago for our new house. Within 3 months we noticed water pouring out from underneath and when the sears repairman came out, he told me there was a slow leak on the drum, that it had been leaking from day 1 until it completely blew that day. It ruined over $8000. of brand new hardwood floors!!!!
After one year one of the settings, NORMAL WASH, stopped working. It would just keep running on this cycle and would not stop. It ran for over an hour on "wash" until I realized how much time had passed and should be done by now. Which is another...
read full review »I owned a GE Profile dishwasher for about 10 years until it gave out. I replaced it with the Kenmore Elite, which was touted by Sears as the quietest and most energy efficient machine on the market. What a lie! To start with, I ran it at bedtime like I always did with my old machine, and was startled from sleep by a deep, pulsating sound partway through the cycle. It eventually stopped, but started up again a little while later. Later that week I called service and the technician who came out said that was normal--it was the sound of the pump draining the water. I couldn't believe that a sound...
read full review »We purchased this dishwasher for a new (for us) house and have already used it many times. It is quiet and does a great job on cleaning the dishes. The interior is stainless and I would never go back to anything else. The baskets are perfect for us since it provides a space for silverware AND two covered spaces on either side. We use them for sippy cup stoppers. My wife and I are pleased with it and would definitely recommend this to our friends.
I wondered if I had the same model as some of the reviewer's of this page- I've had a good experience with dishwasher. I tossed my old Kenmore dishwasher after 10 years of service when the electronics went out. I was a little surprised how much they have risen in cost during that time but I say that for most things I buy. This model looks sharp with the stainless steel interior and that really cuts down on the noise when compared to the older ones. The dishes come out nice and clean. I haven't used the super duper pot scrubber yet- I suspect that is one feature that is rarely used but...
read full review »I've had this line of dishwasher for the last 2.5 yrs. Paid extra money for all the bells and whistles including the nylon racks touted to be less likely to rust. Now my bottom rack is rusting out in a strange place. I called for the 5 yr warranty but they want to charge me $130 "labor" to come out and say "Yup! That's rust," and I have to wait all day for them to show up (8am to 5pm "appointment"). I called the parts department and to simply buy the part costs $120 including shipping- a better deal than their warranty! They refuse to take an emailed picture or even let me mail the rack back to...
read full review »First of all, it is the quietest diswasher I have ever owned! Lots of nice features--still haven't used them all, but it seems to do a good job.
Things to pay attention to: Since it is a "tall tub" the door sticks out further that my old diswasher when it is opened. This should at least be considered when installing near a center island (as mine is). Also, cycles do seem to take a lot longer to run, but I am told this is common in highly efficient/low water diswashers.
Have been using it a couple of weeks now and I would say that I am satisfied.
Only 10 months after purchasing this dishwasher, the motor/pump failed completely and required a service call. If the part had failed two months later, the 1 year warranty would have expired and we would have been required to pay the $443 service call bill. Only 15 months following the repair service and to make matters worse, the same replacement part failed again. This dishwasher is prone to premature motor/pump failure which is very costly. My next purchase will be a Kitchen Aid since the last one lasted me 13 years without a single repair bill.
like one other customer, I traded a more than 12 yr old dishwasher for this piece of junk. The old kenmore pretty much took the color off of the dishes they were so clean......this one adds stuff to my dishes. Nothing comes out clean unless I prewash and even then my silverware is always spotty and looks dirty. I have loaded and reloaded and put dishes facing turbo zone and have put them every way but inside out and they are still dirty. Bought these appliances in May for house remodel, delivered in middle of June and they have SAT in my garage because of sorry building contractor not on time w/...
read full review »I spent a lot of time researching for a dishwasher that would be quiet, energy & water efficient, clean well, and rated well by ****************. I initially was going to buy a Bosch, but ended up buying the Kenmore Elite 1312. Bosch recently put out new models and Sears did not have any on the floor (though on website) for me to check out and there was a lengthy wait time for Bosch DW delivery. I did read the reviews on Sears.com about the Kenmore and they were very mixed (unlike reviews on Bosch). Since the Kenmore was rated highly on Consumers Report, I thought I would be fine with it...and...
read full review »I bought this dishwasher after building a new home. It looks great but works terrible. I have read the user manual front and back and tried everything I can but it will not clean the dishes. It will go through a whole cycle and there will still be food and drink stuck in the glasses and on the silverware. I have to rewash everything when it comes out. I have opted to washing by hand instead of using the dishwasher. I wouldn't drink or eat off the dishes that come out without rewashing them. I thought it was just my dishwasher and a friend and neighbor just bought the same dishwasher and says it...
read full review »I purchased this dishwasher approximately two months ago, and am well pleased thus far. Not the quietest dishwasher on the market (though the sales person at the store indicated that it was the extra insulation that elevated the Elite line over the other Kenmore models), but I guess it is quiet enough. It's not that the motor is overly loud; it is the trickling of the water that we can hear quite clearly. Enough so that my cat is simply fascinated when the various water filtration cycles turn on. What this dishwasher does very, very well is clean my dishes! Sparkling! Every time! ...
