Kenmore Elite Oasis Agitator 4.5 cu. ft. Capacity Top-Load Washer —

When at Sears we read various reviews for this machine. Some purchasers were furious; others were delighted. We decided we would take a chance on the machine and now we're delighted. The deliverymen were considerate, thoughtful, and thorough, we felt. However, I noted that the machine took an extremely LONG time to load water---I finally clocked it at 69 minutes real clock time (the machine started out at 43 on its timer) and almost as long to load water again at the rinse cycle (45 minutes real clock time; 2 minutes on its timer). We called Sears and repairmen came out within a week and...lo and behold...the cold water faucet had been inadvertently turned off during installation and the hot water was barely on! That's why the poor machine would start loading water and stop---it was way too hot for the cool/cool cycle I'd chosen and would "wait" for the water to cool down before more water would be sprayed in! SO, the problem was not a machine problem, just a human error, and are we pleased! The clothes are clean, not particularly wrinkled, and well wrung out; the matching dryer is a love. As other reviewers have stated, I also hope that the control panel has a long life...and I took out the 5-year warranty to make sure I am covered just in case there are problems!
