Kenmore Elite Oasis HE 4.7 cu. ft. Top-Load Washing Machine (2806) —

The washer looks great and has a high capacity but beyond that I regret buying it. It does not clean anything like my old 1980's washer which rusted out so I HAD to replace it. This one does have a beautiful stainless steel drum but beauty gets you so far....the only saving grace is that you can adjust the water level on every load. I manually adjust every load to the king plus water level because if you don't not all the clothes will even get wet! It's like washing your clothes in a puddle. These HE machines do not automatically fill up with water. They splash some water & soap around and then spin very fast repeating this for over 20 minutes until it reaches the water level it is programmed for which will not cover all your clothes with water UNLESS you have adjusted the level to the max. Because it spins so fast and for so long everything comes out SUPER WRINKLED. I end up washing alot of clothes in the Ultra Hand Wash cycle so that they will come out less wrinkled. At times I wash dark clothes twice because they don't come out clean the first time. Again it goes back to the washer not filling up with water like they used to. Sheets come out totally twisted. I regret buying it. Next time I will purchase one that is not HE. Washing clothes now takes alot more effort.

Just had the service person come to the house "under Warranty" and he replaced the electronics module inside the control panel since I was getting a F01 error after exactly 33 minutes on a 41 minute Normal Load cycle. Then if you press STOP, Open the Lid, Press START...it will run until exactly 23 minutes, get a F01 error and if you do the same sequence above, 7 out of 10 times, it will not finish. You have to unplug the AC cord, wait a few minutes until the capacitors on the circuit board discharge and then start from scratch...and hope that you make it to the end...which in most cases, is not going to happen...

Anyway, after the board was replaced, he did his "magic key" diagnostics test which passed..."surprise...surprise"...and an hour later, I put in my first load and guess what???...

Same problem at exactly 33 minutes but this time with a F51 error instead of a F01 error...

I called the Sears Service center that had sent the guy out this morning and they told me that they had contacted him and to expect a phone call from him soon.

I am waiting now...its only been an hour or so...so I will patiently wait...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I want a replacement "NON ELITE HE" washer from Sears!!!....it doesn't have to be a "SUPERB Kenmore"...I would take a "Made in Fourth World" country...as long as it makes it through to the end of the wash cycle...

These Kenmore Elite HE Washers are NOT worth the $800+ MSRP...maybe $80 at the most...the other $700 would need to be used for all the trips to the local laundromat...
