I bought this air cleaner, as well as its bigger brother for another room, when the air was filled with ash because of fires in the area. It has performed admirably. I had the unit for about one-year until the local Sears store ran out of filters. Nobody knows when they will be back in stock. Poor customer service during the process (in store and in phone calls). Don't spend $260 on a product that is not supported.

Purchased this item prior to trying other products, other air purifiers were either to expensive and/or less effective. I researched all other brands of air purifiers and realized for cost and its recommendations this product was what I was looking for. Overall, this air purifier is well worth the money and does its job "above and beyond" , of what I expected.
I bought this filter over a year ago, and was hesitant to pay the high price, but the sensor technology on this unit is well worth the money. My 2 lb Chihuahua comes bounding past the machine, and it activates from the dust in the carpet, it's just that sensitive. I breathe better at night, and I know the air almost perfectly dust free. The only down side is that I sometimes have to vacuum out the pre filter but that's really no problem. Its been over a year now and I haven't had one problem with the unit. I'm thinking about buying the larger one for the front room.
My 3-year-old son suffers big time from multiple allergies (mostly dust and mite), and had tried different air cleaner products, but none of them worked like this one. What a huge difference..!!!
Thanks to this air purifier, I saw great improvements on my son's allergies quite few days after placing in his room. It's amazingly quite on sleeping mode (you barely hear it). I particularly leave it on 24/7 due to his condition and whenever air quality in the house varies, it self-adjusts to level of higher revs to purify room air and to leave it free of dust and strong odors.

We have six indoor cats and a problem with dust and odor from littler pans. This air cleaner surprised us with its success in clearing up the dust and smell. We move it to different rooms at times and it's light and easy to use. It's very quiet and quite sensitive to odors. We're pleased.
I've had a lot of air cleaners in my bedroom over the years and none have been as effective or as quiet as this one. It's so good, I'm ordering more for other rooms.
This is to StevieG from Long Beach, CA. There is a reset button to turn off the change filter indicator. To turn off the CHANGE FILTER INDICATOR, press the FUNCTION and OFF TIMER buttons at the same time for 5 seconds: the CHANGE FILTER INDICATOR will flash 5 times and turn off.
We bought this product for our daughter following the decline in air quality during the fires. There are pets in the household as well as pollen from area trees which she is alergic to, and the air purifier has made a noticeable difference in her ability to breathe especially during the night.

I was just diagnosed with asthma and allergies, especially to my pets. After the first week of using I noticed my eyes don't burn and I'm less congested. I love how quite this machine runs in sleep mode. It picks up odors and automatically adjusts to get rid of it. I naturally had to try that so when I painted my nails and put my hand in front of the sensor it recognized it withing a second. Definately worth the money.
We purchased this unit for the mater bedroom/bath after the CA wildfires because my husband was having so much trouble breathing. He has allergies/asthma. The unit worked wonders. Since running the unit ,he has only used his inhaler a couple of times in the past week or so, where as before the purchase of the air purifier ,he was using the inhaler muliple times a day/night. Plus the air smells fresh, clean and odor free. And there is less dust on the furniture. We should have purchased it long before now. I'm going to purchase 2 more for my boys rooms.
We have several different models of 'HEPA' purifiers in our home. The kids have the small desktop units in their rooms. We have a larger unit in our bedroom but it is much louder. I don't mind that because I like the 'white noise' when I go to sleep. But the Kenmore Envirosense True HEPA is by far the best model we have! We keep it in the family room but you wouldn't even know it's there most of the time. It is extremely quiet. It automatically kicks into high for dust or odor, but then goes back to it's normal mode when the sensors detect the air is clean again. Routine maintenance is easy and...

Ok .. I LOVE this Filter unit .. I originally had a problem with this unit being on low all the time but I am now satisfied that my room is dust and allergen free. The first morning after putting the unit into service, I walked into my bathroom to do my morning paperwork and was amazed to find the odor sensor had put the fan on high. ( Can't imagine why) lol .. That afternoon I was playing with the dog on the carpet in front of the unit and after hitting the carpet nearby a couple of times the dust sensor went off and turned up the fan. Great product! I have severe allergies and bought this purifier to put in my bedroom as I was doing renovations in my vacation house. The extensive features helped reduce the dust and odors from work involving installing new sheetrock and painting (as well as the dust stirred up in the cleaning before and after).
