This is a great functional appliance that is easy to hide in the room and blows upward so you have more options on location. It is quiet on low and powerful on high. I also had a smell that came out of it when I first turned it on but it went away after a couple of days, I think it was the motor or something, but I understand there's a break in period for anything brand new, almost like new car smell! Anyways, its affordable compared to other filters and offers the same effectiveness. I'm happy with this purchase. Thanks!
This filter makes the air so clean! Perfect for medium size room. Filters last a long time.
It works great for cleaning air and I breath better at night, as it definitely gets the dust out of the air, however, after 3 months I had to return the first one, as when ever I ran it, a skunk odor came out of it after running it for an hour. I thought maybe something was burning, but checked the filters and they were fine, the pre filter sure was dirty though, so it obviously takes out the dust in this old house. I took the air purifier back to Sears, got another one to replace it and it worked fine for a few days, then the old familiar skunk smell came out again. I give up, I don't know what...

I purchased this product after my 3 month old son started having a runny nose and cough. I personally have allergy problems and was afraid he will follow in my foot steps. I am very pleased with the air quaility in my home and my entire family can tell the difference. Several people said they couldn't find the filters, I ordered them over the phone from Sears and they were delivered within 2 days. I have also purchased a larger model for the main area of my home.
My son always complains that his bedroom air is stuffy so he leaves the window open a tad all year long, much to my dismay because it raises our heating bill somewhat during the winter. He mentioned that he wanted to get an air cleaner several months ago so, with Christmas getting closer and no list from this young man, we picked up this one for him without giving much thought to anything that air cleaners have to offer.

With a history of bronchial asthma that is triggered by dust, change in seasons and the fact my 2 dogs sleep in my bedroom, out of desperation to have a good night sleep and to relieve the coughing and chest tightness I knew I had to purchase a Hepa air cleaner. On a very tight budget I purchased this one. To my immediate surprise it WORKS!! Now I can't imagine how I went without it so long. I am planning to buy the larger Kenmore Air Filter for my rec room, as this one also has the ionizer for a fresher smell to the room, which the smaller unit does not have.
I,m glad I chose this air cleaner. It has 4 fan speeds that let you control the sound depending on the situation. Quiet at night on low setting. Has improved my allergies and asthma. The prefilters are out of stock and I haven,t received notice that they have come in. Hope this is not an on going problem.
I purchased this product over a year ago - it's great at cleaning the air! I have three dogs, two of them with allergy problems, and notice a HUGE difference in their health when Breeze before this but there was something about it that bothered my throat. It gave me a little cough - and a cough to my non-allergy dog too. This Kenmore air cleaner is perfect for me. The air is cleaned of any scents right away after turning it on. I purchase this Air Cleaner and to begin is noisy does not collect any dust or cleans the air. I placed it in my son bedroom since he suffers from allergies even though his bedroom doors remains close when he goes to sleep at night he was sneezing and coughing. I had to purchase Kenmore Hepa Air Cleaner definitely this one did the job.
Stylish and light weight and easy to use make this a good deal and good price.I love the portability and ease of use.All you need to do is plug into wall and let it clean the stuffy air which makes your eyes puffy and nose stuffed.Quiet unlike other units that keep you up.My only problem is the expensive replacement filters.I hope it lasts with one it came with for 9 months.Highly reccommend.
I purchased this air cleaner after learning from my doctor that I am allergic to all of the things that are in my house. He told me to go to my local sears store and pick up a HEPA filtration system. I waited a couple months, and noticed that my allergies were worsening. After reviewing several other machines in a medical supply book, i purchased this model. I have been sleeping exceptionally well since the purchase of this machine. I haven't had it for very long; however, i could not be more pleased with my air cleaner! Definitely would recommend for anyone with allergies!
I am a longtime Sears customer and own many Kenmore products and bought this unit after reading all the raving reviews on Sears.com. This unit seems to be very cheaply constructed. The fan, which is side mounted like a paddle wheel, wobbles side to side about a quarter inch which creates an irritating vibration and noise. The lower the fan speed the worse it gets. Thinking my unit was defective, I returned it to sears for an exchange. The 2nd unit I got was the same way so I just returned it today for a refund. Having owned several air purifiers, I found this to be unacceptable and would not recommend...

We've had this air purifier in our son's room for a year now & we run it 24/7. This machine is incredible. There is never any dust in his room & his room always has a fresh smell. His sinus problems have definitely improved, as well. I would not spend hundreds of dollars on an air purifier when this one works so great at a fraction of the cost of the higher end models.
This is a nice air cleaner for the price. It handles most of our air-cleaning needs, but it's not strong enough to clear out ongoing, heavy cigarette smoke. Moderate odors and smoke are easily taken care of, though. It is quite noisy in all modes of operation, but I enjoy a bit of "white noise" as I sleep, so the noise doesn't bother me. It helps to mask outside noise, as well, so it's almost like getting a sound conditioner and air cleaner in one unit. The machine is cleanly designed, reliable and easy to care for, and it makes a definite difference in the quality of our air. I wouldn't hesitate...
