Bought a Kemore Pro range and it was manufactured with the wrong orifice in the oven. let's in more gas than it can burn thus enimitting carbon monoxide & other gases. I'm up to my 5th repair appointment and yet problem is not resoved. the range cost over 3K and I can't use it!!!!

What's the range's long model number?

And, why have there been five repair appointments?

If you have more than 3 service calls in a one-year period, you are entitled to a new machine.

These are Protection Agreement covered visits, yes?

MaiMai-Welcome to MySears!  How old is your oven? Have you been offered a replacement oven?  I think you mentioned in a previous post that your model has a recall on it?

I am sure a Blue Crew Appliance associate will be able to find you a terrific oven you are happy with, if you do end up replacing.

Model # 790.79613800 Serial # NF91421871 This is a recall item

Last night I was finally offered a replacement, however, the item model I bought is no longer available (probably due to recall). It's over 3 Mos, since I bought it, and thus I can excahnge it, but not get efund . The problem is that there aren't very many 3k ranges at sears. If I replace it with a stove that costs less, I forfeit the balance. There is 1 item ( also a Kenmore pro range) that costs about the same, however, it's a dual fuel range & I would have to rewire my kitchen since it needs 220 wiring, not 110 wiring. There is a range that is about $700 - $800 more money, but will not fit into the custom made kitchen ( made to fit the Kenmore Pro Range).

Bought the range in late april/early May, but didn't get to use the oven until this past November. I'm willing to exchange for another item, but not forfeit the difference.

I have to agree with you not to buy Kenmore Pro's.

Our new house came with the Kenmore Pro Stove, Pro Dishwasher and Elite Microwave.  In less than two years all three have needed repairs.

I honestly believe that Sears designs their products to fail shortly after warranty so they can make hundreds of dollars on repairs or you have to pay hundreds of dollars a year for service contracts.

Sears should give a full refund.  3 months of problem from new should be good enough. (customer opinon)

Do let us know the results

The OEM's "design" their machines.

Sears sells them.

And, hopefully all three groups (Sears, OEM and Customer) enjoys a well designed, constructed and professionally installed product.

This is disappointing. I'm planning to redo my kitchen in 2010 and had been looking at Kenmore Pro as viable alternatives to Subzero, Viking, Wolf, etc.  Anybody out there who's been wowed by their purchase?  Wowed by customer service?

Hi there, Henry5-Have you checked out the reviews on this site for the appliances your are investigating?  There are quite a few, and I think you will find, the majority of folks who own Kenmore Pro really love them.  Here is a link to the reviews for a Kenmore Pro dishwasher, to get your started:

All Sears products are able to be warranty extended for its entire lifetime. I have had their products for 20 years now and it breaks or I break it and they fix or replace it and or anything else that I lose in its breakage. I love Sears and all their warranties! I feel sorry for those who believe the warranties are a waste of money. Spend the extra few hundred on the extended warranties as Sears will cover your back for the lifetime of your product if you keep up with your warranty. They even offer a free inspection every 6 months or a year just to ensure the product is in good shape!
